I asked a similar question question six months ago, and that only thing I held on to was some people had transmission problems around the 100k mark.
To fix this you just needed to get the trans fluid serviced regularly, (30-40k miles).
The trick here is it costs several hundred to get a full flush since the fluid, according to MB, doesn't needed to be changed. What you can do is drop the trans fluid pan, drain the 4 quarts(8.5 total), and change the filter. If you do this every few oil changes you won't have any problems.
I don't think this is a common problem at all so don't let me scare you.

1. Replaced the passenger chairs computer because it would not adjust properly. Repair Cost about $200
2. Replaced the passenger side view mirror motor. Repair Cost about $100
3. Replaced the GPS Antenna. Repair Cost about $100
I changed the transmission oil, not because it had problems but because I read that it was recommend. Transmission oil was changed this year at around 60,000 miles.
