New magnaflow exhaust vid...

I decided to bite the bullet and have my 2 2ndary cats replaced with high flow mag cats. I then had my stock resonator and muffler removed. The shop then ran a 3'' pipe all the way to a magnaflow muffler. I am pretty happy with the sound and best of all, no CEL....for now.

Let me know what you think...The car was warm before started.

800...

My Pops threw 5 hun down for Christmas otherwise I wouldn't have done the cats. I literally called every muffler shop in town and no one would take the cats out and go straight pipe...

Like I said I bit the bullet...

you wont get CEL, ive been running secondary catless and resonator-less for 3 months now.

the o2 sensors are in front of the secondary cats, so you'll be fine.

sounds great.

Thanks guys, it is a more deep/aggressive tone than I thought it would be but at an idle I barely hear it.

Sounds good

It's unfortunate that you live where you do or I could have taken you to my guy that would have charged you $350 with the cats removed and resonators and the Magnaflow installed because he has a bunch of those laying around.

Yeah the muffler guys around here wouldn't budge at all. Is Bullsht because we basically have no emissions laws/inspections at all. I bought my car out of Cali and had it shipped here. When I had it inspected at the tag office the guy only looked at the vin numbers and made sure they matched up. He didn't even glance at the undercarriage. Oh well, it's done and I'm happy

Hey,

Sounds really great...new to my CLK 430. Where are these secondary resonators located? Also, how is the interior resonance now? Does this muffler have a lot of drone while driving?

Sounds great

Sorry for the late response. There are not secondary resonators, only one and it is located directly behind the muffler. It is rectangular and about 1'6" long. If your talking about the secondary converters, they are about in the middle of the underside of your car. Reference my pics, they are side by side and I had them replaced with after market ones.

As for the noise while driving. I will admit it is more than I would like. At a stoplight you hear nothing but driving 40mpg with your foot on the gas to maintain speed it is a bit loud in the cabin.

I had my friend drive up and down my street a couple times so I could hear how it would sound to others and it made me reconfirm why I did all of this in the first place. It sounds AWESOME! So I guess I can just deal with the noise, I am getting used to it. Oh and on the highway it screeeaaaaaaaaams...

Sry to bring up an old thread but, I already got a Magnaflow muffler & like the way it sounds, just not loud enough for me & I think there's way too much back pressure. I wanted to do the same setup u did but want to hear it first but it says I need a password on photobucket because it's a private album.
