AUX port (glove box), anyone relocated it?
I want to relocate mine to my ashtray or somewhere closer to the driver. I then can have my ipod in there on a retractable cord...
Has anyone relocated theirs?
I'd appreciate any help or suggestions!

Easy enough to do, the socket can be taken apart and relocated easily, as there is plenty of cable to relocate.
I would suggest removing the glove box, this would give you easier access to the socket and cable, which might be tied up under the glove box.
Although this picture does not show the finished product, I ran another audio cable from my Cuda Ipod mount up under the glove box and plugged it into the Aux jack.

gartec I have a 99 clk with no nav setup. I just took the cassette ipod adaptor and wired it through the back of my stereo under the shifter into my center console.... it wasn't that hard to do and it sounds great.

Tanks 2phast- Is it easy to remove the glove box. I havent really checked it out but will today.
I really dont know why MB decided to put the port in the glovebox.
I also wish someone would just come out with a wireless aux device of some sort, if anyone knows of such a thing let me know.

There is a DB2 interface available that replaced your CD changer and allows you to hook your Ipod up to the interface. Allows you to see information, change tracks, etc through your dash display and steering wheel controls

Wow. After all this time I only just found out my car has an AUX input. I'm going to hook it up with a bluetooth unit and pair it with my phone. No more crappy FM transmitters.
I thought I would bump this thread so maybe someone else can share the joy!
