I'm aiming for (at least) the quarter million mile mark in my MY01 CLK55 - at my current pace, that'll be in July '07.

I would love to keep mine, but future car plans may inhibit keeping this car.

I drove an ///M3 SMG on saturday and that was the most fun I've had driving in a long time. The other car I want is a 993 twin turbo.

If I have enough bank roll I'll keep it and get one of those 2 cars in a year or two.

interesting question..I personally love the clk (208) body styling. Not sure if it qualifies for a classic in 5 - 10 years, but I plan on keeping it for a while. I know people who have 250,000 miles on their Benz, and the cars are going strong.. so, why not keep it for the long run. This will be my everyday car, while on the weekends i can pull out the 2008 Modena ;-) for the joyrides.

As long as it stay's reliable is the answer so I should think for another 5 years. That would make it 8 years old by which time I could be into a 2 seater. Quite fancy a Kleemann SL 500 with 500+bhp or Mr Bond's Vanquish on the other hand..........dreams!!!!!!!!

LOL. I like my half-past-four. If the engine lasts (my previous car, SLK230, had so many probs), I'd like to keep mine for awhile.

I'd rather not but may have to part with mine sooner than later. I've been very happy with her though and have no major complaints! Hopefully I'll be able to hang on to her!

I would love to keep mine until it drops, primarily cause it's the first of the CLK series (208) and also the color is unique down here in SoFlo. I beleive there are only two Orion Blue 430's to my knowledge. I get complements every freaking day (and night)

However, from reading previous post, the car gives me the impression that she might be tempermental in years to come. i.e. ratling dashboard, window not going up automatically, etc.... I would rather put my money on furture MBNZs coming out. The bottom line is am sitll undecided, however, I love her though !!!

As soon as I get her out of the shop, I'll post a picture.

As long as the warranty covers any defects, I can live with an E 320 loaner for a couple of days.

The amazing thing:
The car's High Performance engine is so tight, that it does not require an additional drop of oil between the 10,000 mile services. Just amazing!

I will have owned my CLK320 car 2 years in March. I will trade it in for a 2004 CLK500 or CLK55 in September, wife permitting!

I will probably keep ours as long as our business is successful, because our success in part is due to that red CLK (our first project car).

The CLK55 AMG is a better investment than the declining stock market.

Please don't confuse stocks, bonds or real estate with automobiles which are not investments, but depreciating assets.

How do you sell your car? Do you put in the magazines or the internet? I am selling mine too, but it's really hard.

No confusion here, just another liquid asset, readily convertible, declining less (furtunately) than the stockmarket (unfortunately), considering its 3 year substantial drop. :o

I usually keep my cars between 2-4 years. I'll probably keep my 430 until it's so unreliable and beat-up that I'll need a new car or until I total it. The slow-poke way I drive nowadays, I get the feeling this Benz will have to fall apart over the ravages of time.
