Why'd you want to change a 2000 steering wheel to a '99 one? The '99 doesn't have the stereo/computer controls like the 2000 does, and i guess generally the 99' lacks a lot of things that came with the 2000 facelift of the CLK.
Or did you mean the other way around?

well my steering wheel is old and beat up and i found a 99 to replace it but if it doesn't fit i won't use it and thats why i'm glad to be a member of this site so i won't make mistakes that cost money ha ha....

The '99 wheel is not worthy to be put in a 2000 even if it fits in my oppinion..like i said it doesnt have the controls, plus it looks alot more outdated than the 2000 one. These are of course just my own oppinions..

he is not asking about the airbag part. waht he is trying to find out is if the 2000+ airbag fits on the 99 wheel. the switches are a prat of the airbag not the wheenl!
