My CLK is dead after being idle for 4 days

Whenever I dont start the engine for 4 successive days, the battery dies and I cant even open the door (need to use the mechanic key)

I tried 2 fully-charged batteries and the result is just the same. It happened 3 times so far.....

of course, I will get it a service check by MB but any clues?

That's weird, I once left my car idle for one and a half months and nothing really happened.

I think it's not related to the alternator by logic because

(1) if I dont leave it idle for 4 successive days, no problems at all. I'd been driving the car for more than one month until the first time it could not start after being idle for 4 days.
It implies the alternator is charging the battery.

(2) if the alternator fails, the warning light should turn on.
I tried to disconnect the alternator and the warning light did turn on.

(3) i checked the voltage of the battery during engine run, it read 13.5V so I think the alternator is working.

(4) the battery was fully charged before I installed it.

The same thing just happen to mine today, it was the first time for me. I've had my car for about a month also. I've left it idle for the same amount of time before too and didn't have this problem. When you do get it checked out by your service guy, please do get back to me on it, hopelessly it's only a minor glitch.

Check your battery connection for carbin build ups....bad conduction results in battery lost. Clean it with baking soda..

my car can sit in my garage for 5months...still runs good..

Do you have any aftermarket equipment in the car that could be drawing current. Maybe thats what is killing your battery.

No, absolutely not. Actually, I sent my car to the sole dealer here for several times. They said they could start the engine without any problems and they used their computer to check the car and couldnt find any problems...

is my car haunted?

You mean to say you are still having the same problem for the past 6 months and the dealer can't fix it!! I'd throw a big fuss and demand a new car!

white and whiter
after you drive it around for a while, go back home and shut off the car. Let it sit for a while and then proceed to walk around the car and check for any electric or weird noise in the engine bay.

my 00 Beetle 1.8T can't sit around for a week without driving otherwise the battery will die as well. it's caused by a small cooling fan that just won't stop working. warranty expired, so haven't get it checked by the dealership.
