Black Emblems on Trunk?
What up peeps...anybody got black'd out emblems on the back? Did you take yours off and paint them, buy others and paint them, or buy them black?
I'm doing a flat black grill/wheel combo...and am tempted to flat black the rear emblems and tint the tails too.

I did mine gloss black. I used the same star but bought a clk430 then painted them. when I did the clk430 I took it off the brand new sticky back then painted them and put it back on the paper so it would line up again then applied it to the trunk. Hope that helped

The only thing I'm worried about is if they don't go back on straight! i might just do it.
Hersh, not quite...i wish I could do a flat black full paint. Prolly gonna end up gloss black w/ black projectors, tinted tails, and flat black grill, wheels, and emblems.

I was telling you to go with it. if what you ordered is the same as what you get from the dealership this is what I did. the emblem face is suck on to the paper with a slight imprint of the lettere so you need to save that.
1- Take letters off the paper and save
2- do what ever prep work your going to do to get the paint to stick
3- place on to a firm object to paint be careful this will be the same double sided tape on the back of the emblem used to stick it to the car
4- paint to the finish of your choice
5- After its well and dry get that paper and then replace the emblems face down with the double sided tape out all your letters should line up if you match it back up with the imprint of the letters on the paper. If this imprint is not noticeable before you do #1 mark the paper so you can see were each letter goes.
6-- Since your not repainting your trunk which I did.If I was you I would use tape on the trunk to mark of were the emblem to go before you removed the old emblem. Just so you know how far you should be from the edge and top of the trunk
7- Make sure the surface is clean now your ready to stick your new emlems on press firmly so it sticks. Then you can pull the paper back off the face of the emblems and your done.
Hope this helps post pics when your done
