2005 CLK55 COUPE
In stead of lowering the car with those rims, would it be possible to have taller side walls? Say 40's instead of 30 or 35's not sure what people put on 19's for these cars.
I just got a 2002 CLK55 and want to get some 19's not sure what tire combination I should get. What is the biggest tire I can put on without rubbing. I really do not want 30 series side walls so the question is how wide and tall can I go with 19's.
Thanx

taller sidewalls make the vehicle sit up higher off the ground. Just think about it...if your sidewall is 1" thicker, the fender gap goes down by 1", but then your overall wheel/tire is 2" taller than before!! So the bottom of the car is 1" higher off the ground. (1" gap closing at the top, but also 1" higher ride height)
=> bottom line is that bigger profile can make the CLK a monster truck.

I know what you mean but I just do not like it when there is very little side wall say 30's, just do not like that look when the rim kind of sticks out beyond the tire.
