The clear coat on the roof molding is coming off and I want to re-finish it. Has anyone removed the molding, it looks like it would just lift off from the rear end of the car.

Not sure Help!

Roof molding
Yes that would be called molding according to the man at the body shop who wanted $300 to replace.

Mine is doing it too. I have never personally done it, but when reading it seems the consensus is just what you guessed. " Pull up starting at the rear " They 'should' pop right out.

Did you ever get them installed, I had one pull off in a carwash. I need to have it repainted then try and figure out how to install the darn thing.

they just pull up. start from the back. Buy clips from dealer because these clips brake alot. easy to reinstall. the new clips are the red and white ones. they snug in place by the lil tooth slide on the clip them the rail goes in.

I taped around them and painted in place. I used the Dupli-Color spray can from local auto parts store, the Chrysler color that has been mentioned before. I can get the number if you need it. I wet-sanded, then base + clear. I did this on one side and it looks great, can't tell. I may end up doing the A-pillar as well, it's starting to fade, and it's a similar plastic part. I used it for replacing one of my washer nozzle covers too, can't tell the difference.

How do you remove them? I just want to make sure I don't snap, kink, or damage it in anyway.
