1998 CLK 320
SparkPlugs

My baby has 92,800 miles on it.

Service B is due in 400 miles

The main thing I am worried about are the sparkplugs.
Just found out from the previous owner that they were never changed AT ALL

So I have taken it upon myself to change them on my own
I still am waiting for the tool to pull the plug outta the boot thing to come in

Should I change the wires or the coil pack too?

Also, I seem to have a little bit of a rough idle and when switching gears it isnt as smooth as it used to be. It bucks and takes a second to change

Thanks in advance!

I would not change the wires or the coil packs until they are defective.

y are they harder to change?

I never did spark plugs before but there is a great DIY for it, are wires and coils hard to?

Cuz I know they all rely on one another

Well what am I looking at to change them?

I have a 1998 so idk
I dont have a problem i dont think

But wouldnt it be worthless to change the plugs and not the wires and coil?

I am also going to get a transmission flush, do u think that will help with the lagging I get or rough gear changes?

That would be a full flush where they flush all of the transmission fluid out?
Rite?

If I get the 100$ job they only flush out 70% rite?

Anyways all those other parts cost $2700??

That would be a full complete flush. I have not idea what your local dealer would charge you or whomever. Don't know about $100 honestly. Yes those parts are pretty expensive that's why I would only replace if neccesary.

Worthless? You'e changing the plugs because they're worn out. The coil packs are not worn out. Tossing perfectly good coils is a waste to me, but if you insist, Ill give you $40 for all six of your old coil packs. I'll keep them as spares.

Unless you ruin the wires by removing them without a tool, they'll probably be OK too. You can buy an Ohm meter and test them.

If you really want to change something, look at your motor mounts. Then look at your flex disks. After you change them and the shift issue goes away (you should still change the transmission fluid), you can sell me the coil packs for $30.

What should the OHM reading be? Or would I just check for continuity? Mine are original and have 136,00o miles now and it starting to run a little rough. I replaced the plugs at 98,000 miles with NGK Iridiums so it might be time to replace them again. I was going to replace the cables when I changed the plugs but the engine ran smoothly so I felt no need to just replace the cables if they weren't bad at the time.

Typically, plug wires shouldn't exceed 25K per foot.
