Is this too cheap for a CLK?
I'm taking a look at a CLK tomorrow after work. I don't know much about these cars. My only experience with Mercedes is my friends W210 E320 and my cousins W210 E430. It is a 2002 CLK430, for $9999. Here is the description...
Should I be aware of anything? You think something might be wrong with it and he wants to pass it on to someone else?
2002 Mercedes Benz CLK 430. 4.3liter V-8. 75,000miles. 5 speed automatic. 6 disc CD Changer. Voice Command. Set-up for hands free phone. It came with the AMG sport package from the factory (AMG rims and ground effects). Also has a few minor appearance upgrades (AMG hood badging, clear light covers instead of the yellow, Blue Zenon Headlinghts, 2005 grill insert). No modifications done to the engine. I just put on new Z-rated tires and had the Service B completed. New front brakes and rotors in January 2009. Priced to sell. Very clean inside and out. Absolutely Phenomenal. I have a complete vehicle history report on this car from Mercedes. Sorry to see it go, but we have an expanding family and we need something bigger. NEW WINDSHIELD, no cracks or chips. Two NEW catalytic converters. Please give me a call with ANY AND ALL questions, concerns, or comments. Must sell and will take serious offers.

Yeah, the miles are really good for that price. Hopefully everything checks out. I do wonder why he had to replace the catalytic converters so soon.
The reason I ask if its too cheap is because I was checking ebay and most of the ones I saw were higher priced than this one.

OEM cats commonly fail. If the dealer did his cats, they either replaced 3, or they replaced 1. There are a ton of threads on what to look for when buying a used CLK.

Well, I guess I'm not getting it. The guy met me at work and told me that someone bought it this morning in cash. Right before I was going to look at it too...damn.

For the UK I would say thats a bit pricy due to the larger engine cars being generally dearer then the smaller more economical CLK 200 or 230 Kompressors. No one really wants a 4.3 l engine, anything larger then 3litres is not that attractive at about $8+ a US Gallon

HOLY CRAP!!!! I am the guy that bought the CLK mentioned here. Sorry dide--and i didnt pay any where near the $9900 he wanted. You didnt miss much, the second day I had it the trans exibited a problem with the 2-3 shift. It would free-wheel occasionally (like it dropped into neutral) A trip to omaha and $200 to the dealer diagnosed a trans problem. It is now in the shop for a $1500-2500 required trans rebuild.
Halloween is coming and I remember where the guy lives---that is all I am admitting to online.

dam crazy story sounds like worked out for the both of you. You didnt get the car but at the price you were going to get it + that tranny problem I would have been teed off
other guy got it cheaper but with tranny problem leveled things out
Also I live here in Des Moines and there is a nice CLK55 for sale here in town. Car has been available for a while so maybe guy is flexible. Also add to the fact that winter is coming this car is in with the buyers market. Here is a link to the car. IM sure you can talk him down
