Me and my father are having a conflict with our 430. he insists that the AMG package adds a dohc motor, what motor does our clk430 AMG package have!

also does the sohc have 24 valves? or do they all have 32 valves. he doesnt believe me

The W208 CLK stats are at this webpage. That information came from the 2002 MB press kit.

The 'current' CLK63 has a DOHC engine. Information on that engine can be found at this website, in the W209 section.

The 4.2 liter M119 was a DOHC engine manufactured by Mercedes-Benz. The M119 was never offered in a CLK. The ONLY V8 offered in a CLK by Mercedes-Benz was the M113. The M113 is a SOHC three-valve-per cylinder engine that replaced the M119. You can read about the M113 here.

Rather than argue, perhaps you two could agree to call this "reaching a deeper understanding of Mercedes-Benz products."

well, first off, there are no AMG clk430's. ALL clk430's come standard with the 17" amg wheels, amg body kit, and amg exhaust tip. it has absolutely NOTHING to do with the engine.

Kind of funny that he insists he's right about something that is very easily fact checked. To quote Homer (Simpson): "Oooh they have the internet on computers now!"

Also, OPALW208 is right. There is no AMG Package on 430's. The Body kit and wheels came standard on all 430's here.

430's in Europe had to buy the AMG bits a la carte as they weren't part of the Elegance, Avantgarde, or Sport package
