Bought an AMG, got a few ??

I'll post pics in a few days. It's a 2001 glacier white. Got in late last night after a few hundred mile drive. Yum.

Passenger seat won't release to let kids in the back. Did a search, no luck.

Is there MB equivalent of Realoem.com website for BMWs?
Thanks

Welcome. Passenger seats have a problem with I belive a module going out in them I had to have it replaced at the dealers expense when I first brought the car. Its been 2 years I will try to look for my reciept to let you know what was done.

Congrats on the purchase.

If you mean the seat upper won’t unlatch and lean forward, I believe I remember reading something about a cable that can be replaced. I’ll have to double check that it was a Mercedes seat, because I follow a lot of cars. I'll try to remember to check the WIS tomorrow.

There are MB dealers that sell OEM parts via the web. AutohausAZ usually beats their prices though. MB Wholesale Parts sells OEM as well.

Thanks guys, I really think I'm gonna like this car. I think it might be a cable, as it releases some, but not enough. Have a few other little issues, like missing dash pixels and lights, but otherwise it's in nice condition. Drives awesome. Will mod it some, but nothin crazy.

Are rial daytonas "socially acceptable" I picked up a set a few years back and forgot I had em..18x8.5 ET 30, 235/40 tires mounted. 112 x 5 right?

Wheels are a very personal decision. Put on what makes you happy. As to the missing pixels, this is a known issue. If you take the car to a dealer, they will recommend replacement...Marcus may know the cost on this, but it isn't cheap.

There is an outfit in the Boston area (BBA Remanufacturing) that repairs these. IIRC, the cost was less than $350, but that was some time ago. I've never used them, but others here may be able to offer some feedback.

How many miles on your CLK55?

Oh, don't forget to register for the AMG Private Lounge!

I would first like to WELCOME you to the site and tell you that your WHITE CLK is a FREAKIN BEAUTY!!! I love that color evem more than black!!

Ok..on to your problem, I had this issue while living in Germany and the dealership fixed it by simply pulling the handle off the seat and pulling the steel wire back onto the seat latch hook. After the cable has been placed then you can push the plastic latch back on. I wish I had some pics but this is the best I can do for now.

EDIT: If you are good with electronics then I suggest you give the Dash Cluster fix a try first before you shell out cash. It is VERY easy to do if you have messed around with motherboards and ribbon cables before. I had mine done about 3 years ago and the pixels have yet to go out again. ( I will knock on some wood now that I said this)

Good luck!!

Greg

bummer on the dead pixels. One of my few annoyances with this car, that and the steering box feedback.

But hey that torquey v8 makes up for it!
Congrats on the purchase i love my black baby. Have FUN!
