Please help me decide on projector headlights
I am having a hard time choosing which projectors to get for my white CLK.
Which set do you think would look better on a white CLK?
If anyone have a pictures of the CLK with any of these headlights, please posted on this thread also. Thx.

Question about replacement headlights
I wanted to know if I change to a replacement aftermarket headlights, would there be any problem with the lighting system and electronic of the car? Also, where is the best place to get it done? Like at a detailing shop?

do it yourself, real easy to do. just remove the bumper, and then literally 2 bolts and 1 nut hold the headlight in once the bumper is removed. i can do it myself in a half hour tops all assembled again. granted i do bodywork for a living, but you shouldnt have any problems.

Believe me its simple, heres the instructions on removing the bumper from the how to section:
Remove Front Bumper:
You'll need an 8 and 10 mm ratchet, a 13 mm open ended and a phillips head screw driver.
1. You need to detach the fog light splash shields from the car (you can leave them attached to the bumper) using the screwdriver.
2. Using the 8mm, disconnect the 4 bolts around the headlights.
3. With the 10mm ratchet, remove the bolts on either side of the bumper where it meets the fender (near the wheel).
4. To access the next two fasteners, you'll need to remove the side marker and part of the impact strip (or remove it from underneath the car). They're elongated bolts with a 10mm head on either side of the bumper. Loosen them until they drop down but don't remove them from the bumper.
5. Finally, remove the front fan shroud and you'll be able to access the two 13mm nuts. Remove them.
6. CAREFULLY remove the bumper (it is advised to have 2 people do it so that you don't scratch the fender with the sides).
7. If you didn't disconnect the wiring and temperature sensor from below before removing all the hardware, then disconnect everything before you pull the bumper very far off the car.
Make sure to organize the bolts so that you know where they go back. I drew a picture of the front of the car on a pad and placed the bolts on there so I remembered.
It should take about 40 minutes the first time. The bumper is quite light, so it should just slide out. If it doesn't, then you forgot some bolts. Compliments of Josh K and str8ridin

I think you should go with the non black halos, only because you don't have any other black accents on your car, now if you plan on doing more things to your car that have black in it, then get the black housings. Thats my opinion. See your other thread on the install advice

99CLK320,
remove the bumper? NOOOOOOOO
STOP!!!! You don't have to remove the bumper. Especially on your 320 that has that lower lip like mine does. Here's what you do: Take all the bolts, screws and wires off so the headlight bucket is completely free. You will see that you can move the headlight around at various angles but you can't quite get it out. Remove all the top fender bolts all the way up to the windshield. That will allow the fender to be pulled out just enough to maneuver the headlight out. Trust me. It works and its a lot less work that removing the entire front bumper. I am sure Silver430clkr means well but his 430 bumper is one piece. The 320 like we have is two piece and a much bigger pain in the **** to remove.
Also: I agree with those that encourage you to go with the chrome NOT the black because the blacks, although cool and striking, will really disrupt the continuity of your WHITE car. I think the third picture is the best. I don't care for the cheese grater looking ones in the first pic. I think the black headlights will stick out like a sore thumb and will be the first thing people will see which will detract from the overall look of the car. If you had a black theme, like black rims and smoked side markers and rear tailights, black projectors would work. But not with the white and chrome thing you have going now. Get some clear front side marker lenses. You'll like them.
question please. Did you paint the lower front lip, side skirts and rear lower lip or was it done like that when you got it? It looks really good. Much better than the black lowers I have.

Thx for the advice dlbehrns. As for the lower front lip, side skirts and rear lower lip,it was like that when I first got the car. I guess the old owner probably put them on. lol.

Also, do you guys think it a good idea to use the BMW look alike Angel eyes at the same time with the normal light for the Chrome Halo Headlights? Or you guys think I should use only the normal light?

You will probably not be satisfied until you see the Angel lights turned on so just tell the shop thats installing it to go ahead and plug them into the front bumper side marker lights so that you can turn them on by themselves when you just turn on the city lights AND they will also stay on when you turn the light switch one more click to turn on the headlights. It might look cool anyway so PLEASE send us a picture, I would actually like to see how they look on your car.
If, you do not like the HALO after a while then all you have to do is unplug the negative "black" wire that goes to the HALO LED portion and they will not turn on anymore. It will be cheaper for you to do it all at once because if you go back later to get them hooked up seperately they will charge you more money.

do these ebay headlights really work? i had a pair on my 540i msport and they were crap! the low beams burnt out after a month, they leaked water in, and they didnt fit correctly to begin with...these lukakech ones - do they fit well and shine better than stock?

Yes they do really work. I've had no problems at all, and they are 2 years old about.

2 years with the Cheesgraters and have had no issues yet. I ran the stock H7 bulbs for a year and then upgraded the HID's 6000K bulbs about a year ago and still no issues. As far as shining better..HE** YEAH!! My old ones were starting to haze over and buying the aftermarket ones were WAY cheaper than buying another set of OEM.
If my original set of OEM would have been in perfect condition then I would not have made the upgrade but for someone that needs a new set due to the old ones hazing up then this is a perfect choice IMO.

Yes..it is a good route to go and a route that MANY of us on this forum have taken. There is a guy that ran a Sale on HID kits on the Forum by the name of James. He has a company and gave us a nice discount for an HID kit.
His number is 877-422-4736 ask for James and let him know that you are a member on MBworld, maybe he can still give you a discount???? Its worth a shot I think.

Do it which ever way you like. but me personally, i wouldnt touch the fender bolts. not only will you strip the paint on them using a socket and make it look like the cars been tampered with to a new buyer, yourself, etc., but you would have to line up the fender lines to the hood again. no hard feelings but im just trying to help out. ive been in the bodyshop business since i was 14, i know im only 21, but if theres somthing i can say about bodywork is that everything HAS to look factory when reasembled. and touching the fenders without stipping paint on the bolts aint gunna happen. you will end up spending more time that way and be tugging on your bumper trying to get at the nut on the lower inner sides of the headlight, and the bolt on the lower corner of the fender holding the headlights. and then prying on the little tabs on the bumper to try to squeeze the headlight out through the front. trust me take your time, and remove the bumper
