RED LIGHT CAMERAS ON LONG ISLAND
How's everyone. As you may not know, I live on Long Island. Since the "Police" recently put up these stupid RED LIGHT CAMERAS every where I wanted to know if anyone has received a ticket? If so, did anyone bother fighting it or just pay the $50 fine. If so, was it near the Roosevelt Field Mall because I have been nailed their twice (turning into the mall).
Thanks,
Steve

) and got flashed by one and was like WTF!!!!!!! it was when they first started puttin them all over and i didnt realize. long story short kinda ruined my day but in the end i never got a ticket. idk whether they were jus in the process of testing them out at the time or they were just in the christmas spirit and didnt issue any tickets that day?
but knowing NY they were probly jus testing them out still cuz theyll squeeze you for every dime you make out here anyway they can. btw just pay the 50 bucks, it aint worth sittin on that line at 16 cooper street, i aint proud of it but ive done it many times(for worse moving violations).

Although my niece said there was a video of her making the right on red, not sure if her face was clearly visible
I know that cameras in other areas do take pictures of the driver, specifically for this reason. People were saying it wasn't them driving, and there was no way to prove otherwise.
Anyway this site has a map showing the camera locations, and a way to view your drive to work (or wherever) and see all cameras on the route

My advise; be careful, pay attention at intersections and know it's only a matter of time before you can freely speed through red lights to your hearts content.
Your point on the economics of the cameras is well taken.
In my county, tickets are not issued if you were simply "in" the intersection when a light turned red - i.e., you entered on yellow, but did not clear it before it went red. However, you do get one if it is red when you enter the intersection. As you should. At the moment, there is plenty of revenue coming in, because we have a serious problem with red light runners and deadly crashes.

That was an implied, second point to go along with the economics!
My question for you is where your Avatar is from?
Thanks,
