Why are these only on my front bumper?

2002 CLK430
Question Why are these only on my front bumper?
Hi, newbee here!

Just bought a 2002 CLK430 coupe. The front bumper has parktronic sensors but the back bumper does not. Do you know why? My guess is that it's been in a fender bender and a newer bumper was put on. In any case I have a couple of BMW's and the sensors are front and back. Same on some Audi's I have ownned. Let me know what you think and Thanks!

umm, yeah, right.
Gee, I didn't think of that. I will go right back to the auto auction and find out where they got it from! I am sure they will just release all the private info on where they got the car.

I was hoping for a more "educated" response.

lol, 2 posts and already off to a great start. You are correct in assuming parktronic is on both bumpers. How are we supposed to know what happened to one of your bumpers? Did you run a carfax to see if there was previous accidents?

call the dealer and give them your VIN and they can look the car up in the system to see what accessories came with the car.

It shouldn't be too hard to figure out. If you have the parktronic control module inside then the rear bumper was replaced. If you don't then the font one was replaced.
