lowering springs

Any opinions on lowering springs. Are Schatz's springs any good?

When you lower your car you will need to change your shocks too,
the H&R cup kit is the best choice for the money.

If you do a search, you'll see most people recommend H&R springs. They give you a good combination of lowering with handling improvements without being too harsh for daily driving.
You don't have to change your shocks at the same time, but expect shorter shock life from your originals if you don't.

I just changed my springs and my front spring pads and am very pleased with the results.

Ivan, I noticed that you are using 15mm spacers for your wheels. When you bought them, did they come with the bolts? How much did they cost you?

Thanks,

Solihin

Yes, they did come with longer bolts. I bought them at http:www.Autoclass.net. Theywere about $80 and give the car a much more aggressive stance. It is really noticable from the front and 3/4 front view.

Did you use the same spacers all the way around or did you use different ones for the fronts.

granted that i've never tried other springs on my car, i can't attest to the comfort and performance, but I put in a set of Brabus suspension, and i absolutely LOVE the ride.

Specs:
Brabus Suspension - brabus springs & bilstein shocks
#1 Spring Pads in Front & Rear
1.5" Drop

Here are the before(kinda dark) & after pics:

Whiteyford,
I'm only using spacers in the back. I was unable to fit the 12mm H&R hubcentric spacers on the front. If I could find some smaller 5mm or so hubcentric spacers that fit, I would get a pair for the front too.

IVAN: what is the hubcentric spacer? Is that going to prevent the wheels from vibrating?

Does spacer fit any wheels? Because I have this set of Brabus wheels and then they sent me some spacers that don't fit the wheels.

ANy comments.

THanks

hinhin7,
Hubcentric spacers fit on your cars hub and have there own hub for the rim to rest on. This avoids using just the bolts to carry the stress.
You shouldn't have any problems with vibrations and broken bolts that you "might" run into with non hubcenbtric spacers.

Afaik- as long as the wheel fits the car and you have the right spacers (you have to specify model) they should work together fine, but I'm no expert on this subject.

Ivan: thanks for you help.

THe spacers from Brabus do actually fit my wheels. I called them and explain to me how to put them on.

So, probably in a couple of weeks, my mods will be done :-)

The H&R Cup Kit costs $699 @ www.evosport.com and is a kit of springs and shocks that will lower your car 1.9" front and 1.6" rear.
The spring pads are standard and your car has them, you can adjust height also by changing them from a 5 to a 3 or a 1.
If you put only the H&R springs, your standard shocks will wear out soon because they are not designed to being compressed all the time.
Spacers are for the wheels if you wan't to increase your track, they got nothing to do with your suspension mods.
