Sway bars

hi everyone, i'm sure this topic has cameup in the past years but i figured i ask before buying, as you all know i custom fabbed the strut bars for the clk w208 which i and many other friends are using. i'm very happy with the ride of the car as is but i would like to just complete the suspension by putting in the sway bars, now here is my question: should i go with Eibach or H&R they both seem to be the exact same measurements and the only thing that looks different between the two is the color. so any advise or experience would help.

Thanks

I looked heavily into doing this and haven't actually ordered or modded the sway bars yet, so take what I have to say with a grain of salt.

I did hear a lot that the H&R bushings suck and need to be lubed/reordered quite often to prevent squeaking. I'd get the Eibachs.

Really?! thats very intresting because i tought the H&Rs would be of higher quality, but i gues not. Thanks for the headsup.

I have the H&R Sway Bars, put them on the same time I got your F/R Struts and I'm loving it. Heard the difference is the Eibach is adjustable. I believe Ghost has the Eibach struts.

adjustable in what sense for stiffness? i'm really having a hard time deciding between the two, i just want the one that i can install and forget about and dont have to worry about bushings and all that stuff.

I would imagine they both use urathane bushings. The problem is people usually install them dry and the will creak like crazy. Use a good slicone spray on the install and you should have no noise. It's the frame mounts you'll get the noise. The rubber has give and flexes with the bar, thats why OEM usually wont make the noise.

Yes but maybe I misspoke maybe it was another sway bar that I read was adjustable.

Anyways since I have the H&R Sports Cup Kit I thought it was only appropriate to go with the H&R Sway Bars to complete my system with a touch of Ash F/R tower struts.

lol, i know, i think i'm gonna stick with the H&R ones too because i have their springs and ive had many of their products over the years and no problem at all. by the way william i'm working on a new project, its in the design stages now but once its done yours will be in the mail. this one wont be up for production sale just a one off. so i'll only be making two of them.

hey i have the eibach sways and love them they were the first suspension mod i did. i have since been informed that they are the same sways found on the clk55. furthermore, blackbenz is running the H&R on his car or at least he was running.

Eibach makes the sway bars for the clk55. The 55 bars are the same as the aftermarket eibach bars.

The BS sways are also made by Eibach and stamped AMG.

Bringing this up because this is the best discussion of sway bars that I could find.

Is there a 100% confirmation that the OEM AMG bars are same size as the after-market ones from H&R or Eibach? Last post seems to state that the Eibach are actually used by OEM (AMG 55 model).

How hard is the FRONT sway bar to install? Easier than the rear? do you have to remove any other components like the rear?

Can someone please describe the difference in drive feel made with the stiffer sway bars?
