99CLK320,
where's the wheel experts?

If I understand the offset thing correctly: My oem offset is 35mm. With a 30 mm offset, that would move the stance/wheel out 5mm. Assuming the width of my oem rim is 7 inches on a 320, the BBS rim being 8.5inches wide, that’s 1.5 inches wider than oem but only half of that or ¾ of an inch would be added to that 5mm move outside. Am I thinking about this correctly? So if 5 mm = 0.196850 inches or round it up to .20" +.75" is a little less than 1inch further out. Would I have to roll the fenders cuz I really don’t want to do that? Also, I am going to install Vogtland springs which will drop the car about 1.5". Could there be any adverse side affects from this fitment with 225x40x18 tires? From what I have read some of you guys are running I don't think so but I would apprecaite any feedback. Thanks!

I"M HERE! lol j/k. yes brother you have it right the offset is the distance from the back of the hub surface to center of the wheel, so if you draw an imaginary line exactly on the wenter of the width of the wheel (example if the wheel is 10" wide the imaginary line would be right at 5") you draw that line across and the distance from the back of the hub surface to that line is the offset. so yes you have it right and with a 30 offset you will be pushed out 5 which is nothing at all on 8.5 if you were talking about 10s then you can run into some issues.

on the wheels that you are buying just make sure the hub bore is 66.6 or they wont be hubcentric with your hubs, if they are bigger then you have to run hub rings but if they are smaller then you can have them drilled to 66.6 and they will be hub centric without hub rings.

and as you know te bolt pattern is 5x112 for us and audies.

hope this helped.

30ET on 8.5 fronts is a tad aggressive, but I was running 32ET on 8.5 Forgestars on the front with 225/40/18 Nitto Invos with no problems as far as rubbing. I'm lowered ~ 1.2" on Eibach Pros.

You'll be fine if you're running a square setup or 9.5 wide on the back provided the offset doesn't go lower than 30ish. Anything 10"+ wide on the rears are going to cause problems.

99CLK320,
Here's what I got back from BBS and I assumed (the stock 320 rims are 7"wide, right?)

David,

If your OE wheel is 7" w/et35.... the LM127 will add 14mm's to the inside of the wheel placement and 24mm's to the outside. We did list that wheel in the past for your car, but with a "note" in the application guide that it's an aggressive fitment and you'll most likely have to roll the fenders and you'll need to check the inner clearance as well. We list aggressive fitments (with foot notes) like this because some people really like them aggressive!

Regards,

Michael ***

you may not even need the rolling, but if you do it will be minimal, I'm running a much more aggressive setup than the ones you mentioned.

yes i rolled mine but mine the wheels are wider, but rolling fenders is very easy any shop can do it for $50. but when i did my new setup which is what o have now because i put new hoops on my wheels i didnt need the fender rolling but it was done anyway. If it was closer i would driveup but thats pretty far from me. Those BBS lms are nice wheels.
