Just thought someone with a CLK out there might need this info.

My cd changer in the trunk started to suck real bad. Got an aftermarket Clarion 7" single din flip out nav with dvd player. Was able to integrate it into existing BOSE system. I used to work at Circuit city for a while when I was younger so I knew we could do something like this. A guy I know at Best Buy, used a VW harnes and was able to wire in the Clarion right into the Bose system. I left the stock radio where it is and removed the cd pocket below it and installed the flip out in there. Works great, sounds good. Have had it in there for 6 months now. Cost about $25 for harness and $40 to hardwired it in.

I'm really picky about sound, so the Clarion is not good enough for me. I have an old Skool Alpine 7894 single din that's bad ***. What I'm trying to do is remove the Stock radio above the Clarion, then install the Alpine cd/mp3 in that spot, then Use the Alpine as the Primary and whenever I want to use the Nav or DVD, I can turn the Clarion on and Tune my Alpine to the AUX input and get the sound to play that way. I got a AI-Netlink cable on Ebay for $20 , they start at $6. I'm going to use that to connect the Clarion to the Apline.

It Should work. Going to try to do that soon. Will keep you updated.

Myself and many other guys on here intgrated a PAC OEM 2 in conjuction with an aftermarket headunit. It takes the sound quality to another level. Heres a ink for you.

Ya, you will need a PAC SWI-CAN2 and PAC SWI-PS for the steering wheel controls. The SWI-PS is Pioneer specific. You would need a diff one for your unit tho. Shouldnt be hard to find. Check this link out for more info.

I have the eclipse avn 5510 7 inch wide screen nav,cd,etc touch screen combo radio with just the volkswagen wire harness kit so its plug and play and it sound ,works great and loud with my factory bose system with no problems or adding any pac oem adaptor !

The input signal for a Bose amp is different than most car amps. Bose uses a balanced, differential signal interconnection. Most aftermarket audio systems use an unbalanced connection. The PAC converter box reads the unbalanced input and produces balanced output. I don’t know anyone who has heard a Bose system with unbalanced input and again with balanced input, and thought the PAC OEM-2 was a waste of money. Not that the OEM-2 cost much. I paid $15 for mine.

A definate must have if your talking to the Bose amp. If you have a after market headunit and using the bose amp to power your speakers, and did not install the PAC OEM2 (or similar unit to take care of the balence to unbalanced conversion), you did it wrong!...enough said

To add: A small sub really makes the system come alive. A couple fo forum members here, that have heard my car in person have been surprised. Does not take much to modernize our crappy A/V system, the bose system is not all that bad after all!

Again ....I have no problem with my aftermarket unit connected to the bose oem amp with out pac-man ! ! lol... It sound clear,clean, crisp and very loud !

Ok just finished my Project. My beloved Alpine cda7893 sat too long in the garage and rusted up so I got a new one. They don't make Alpines like the used to in my opinion, so I found a brand new Alpine Glider CDA9853 on craiglist. Installed it on top of the clarion. harwired the Alpine into the bose system, power up the clarion and used a Alpine Ai-netlink cable to transfer sound from clarion nav/dvd to Alpine. Sounds great totally happy with everything. Now I can use my Apline all the Time and then turn on and use the Flip out whenever I want to.

Also, removed a power 10 Audiobahn subwoofer from the trunk and installed a kicker 10 L5 in a vented box with a kicker 400.1 amp. the L5 Sub/box is tiny, takes up less space but give a huge amount of bass. Not as much spl as 2 12's but enough bass.

Finally happy with my Sound.

I hear ya, and I thought the same thing, until I hooked up a Pac-OEM2 and realized the true potential the audio system had. Just my observation I guess to each his own.

Do i still need the SWI-Jack and SWI-Can2 or do I need to get other interfaces that will be compatible with Pioneer? I noticed that the SWI-Jack says that it works with JVC, Alpine, Clarion, and Kenwood but not Pioneer.

The SWI-Jack won't work with a Pioneer. JACK stands for JVC, Alpine, Clarion, and Kenwood.

You'll need an SWI-CAN2 and an SWI-PS. The PS stands for Pioneer and Sony.

I have looked at several threads and Marcus' install seems to provide the best direction so far along with a good install over on the W210 boards. One question to anyone that installed a SWI (JACK/PS, etc...) + an SWI-CAN2 on a CLK - how did you hook up the yellow and black wires? Did anyone splice them into the OEM2/SOEM4 or another way? Just looking for the easiest way for if they can be spliced into the OEM2/SOEM4, all the would need to be wired during the install is the CANBUS+ and -. Any comments or suggestions would be welcomed. Also, on the CAN2, is the yellow wire reversed as with the balance of the install since this is not switched, but constant? Thanks

I got all the components and wired the hardenss to the PAC OEM. I got few questions:

1- After wiring the hardness to the PAC, I am left with the orange and yellow wires from the hardess and the blue and black from the PAC.
2- I also have the other hardness from the head unit (AVIC-Z120BT) with all the wires and do not know where to connect them. This hardness has yellow constant, red for ignition, orange/white for lighting switch terminal, black for ground. Not to mention the wires for the NAV which I know I need to connect to the reverse, parking break but the one I do not know where to connect is the pink wire called car speed input signal. This is supposed to be a power wire.

Can you help? I practically need to know where to connect the second hardness that includes the wires for the NAV.
3- The input from the PAC came with RCA and wires but I used the RCA because the other hardness from the head unit came with RCA. Now where do I connect the sub-woofer RCA?

Not knowing which harness converter you used, I can't comment on what your wires are used for. On my Crutchfield harness, orange with a white stripe is used for a dimmer and yellow is powered when the ignition is on.

The black wire on the PAC OEM2 is a negative ground. The blue wire is used to turn a power antenna on (not used).
