Driver Seat stop working on 2001 clk320

The switch to move driver's seat forward and back stop working. I was able to hear the 'click' noise but it would not move. After playing with the nozzle every time i got in to drive, it finally moved after two weeks of being stuck. It's been working fine every since. I tried everything. There was nothing stuck in the track, no blown fuses. Not sure why it stopped working.

My guess is that the Fore/Aft motor is failing. It's happened to mine and several others. I'd go as far as saying this is a fairly common problem with CLKs in that 1999 - 2002 MY range.

Mine stopped working too. Same thing, no blown fuse, nothing stuck in the track. I hear the click, but not able to get it moving. Anyone have any other suggestions?

well i'm going to try the ecu reset thing first. From researching, if the motor is going bad my fuse should be blowing? my fuses are fine. Both seats are acting up. The weird thing is that the driver seat when I tilt back the seat actually goes forward.... something is screwed up. Going to try to d/c battery for a day to see what happens.

Thumbs down Autoslide not working

These fore/aft motor in my driver and passenger seat are acting strangely in my CLK430 cabrio.

I have no problem using the seat control switch to move the seat forward and backward along the track. When I lift the seat lever on the side of the seat to allow passenger to get in and out of the back seat, it does not slide forward automatically. The seat back flip forward, but the seat does not move or slide forward.

Not a big deal... Get out of the seat, move the seat forward, then flip the seat back forward, let people get in and out, flip the seat back to upright position then move the seat back to the desire position using the preprogram setting before getting back in the car.

I found the autoslide mechanism is not necessary and its a trap for the dealer to make more money off us.

Just do a search for "seat motor"...anything you want to know and how to do it has been posted many times....DIY/link etc..
Seat not moving + bad middle motor...a DIY
Seat not moving when entering rear seat is the control module.
