Navigation/command System
I WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE KNEW WHAT I WOULD HAVE TO GO ABOUT TO GET THE NAVIGATION/COMMAND SYSTEM INSTALLED IN MY CLK430. I HAVE A 99 CLK430 WITH A STOCK MERCEDES RADIO AND 6 DISC CHANGER IN THE TRUNK. I WANT TO UPGRADE THAT TO THE MERCEDES NAVIGATION SYSTEM WITH SCREEN JUST LIKE IN THE CLK55 MODELS. IS IT JUST BASICALLY BUYING THE SYSTEM AND INSTALLING IT OR DO I HAVE TO DO ANY MAJOR MODIFICATIONS TO MY CONSOLE AND WIRING? IS THERE AN EXTRA BOX I WOULD HAVE TO PURCHASE FOR THE NAVIGATION BESIDES THE ACTUAL SCREEN?
ANY HELP OR SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE GREAT!!!

I think it depends on if you buy the unit used or brand new from the dealer. Then plus installation and whatever else you may need I'm thinking about $1200 + for a used unit w/ installation. Brand new from a dealer would probably be alot more.

As far as W203 comand prices from the US dealer goes: 5400USD for a refurbished and 7200USD for a new unit (which is what I was told and what sounded to me like just some figures grabbed somewhere out of nowhere)...and as far as that same dealer goes: Comand cannot be retrofitted into a car afterwards when it is not delivered with comand from factory.
oh...and I am in the NY/NJ area at this moment...to actually DO comand installs...

Just Installed....
I just returned from NY/NJ area tonight where STEVE installed my Comand System plus my Nokia 6310i integrated phone in my 2000 E320 4matic. I could not be happier with the job he did. It's unbelievable to watch him work. This guy is a craftsman and you can feel 100% confident that he knows what he's doing. As soon as I have time I'll post a few pictures of the new Comand and the phone, too. Thank you, Steve!
