I did the reg in my 208 before. It was real easy. Just take off the cover up under the passenger side dash like you would to get to the cabin filter. Few more screws later you should have it out. For some reason I remember the blower motor coming out too. Good luck

Set a mirror on floor to help see the regulator and blower. You can remove the regulator alone (two torx screws) or the reg/blower assembly. The regulator screws are partially hidden and a bit tough to get the screws started, hence the mirror (and light). I replaced the regulator and fan still ran slow and erratic. MB mechanic said cheap regulators give a lot of problems. I bought a Behr brand regulator and it works great. Can hardly keep my toupee on now !! Good idea to change your cabin filter since it's right there by the blower.

I tried to locate a Behr regulator & the picture doesn't look like it's the same. What is the Behr part # and where can I find it, my blower only works when it's cool in the morning, I used to be able to thump the dash & it'd start, but now nothing. My car is black on black 2003 CLK 320 (208body) cabriolet. I'm dying in NM! HELP!

Try autohausaz.com and part number 2308210251 for your 2003. That unit looks different than the 2001 regulator. There was a model redesign in 2002 so your install steps may be different than that given in this thread. Hoepfully they are close to the same. After you change the regulator once it will seem pretty straight forward. It's tougher the first time due to unfamiliarity with reaching screws and sliding clips.

The link that I provided has a photo of the part, the Behr part number (both on the box and on the part), and the MB part number. The Behr unit is the upgraded replacement for MB parts numbered 202 820 73 10, 210 820 62 10, 210 870 02 10, A 202 820 73 10, A 210 820 62 10, and A 210 870 02 10. You may want to pull your existing regulator and confirm its part number.

Just replaced my blower regulator today.

Used the DIY procedure, for replacing the blower regulator and/or cabin air filter, below

Blower Regulator out again. less than a year

Well I got the blower motor resistor changed out last year & low and behold, 11 months later it's back to it's old tricks! Is there a HEAVY DUTY regulator that will last more than 10-12 months? As I've stated before my car is triple black (Paint, top, leather!) We're only in the 90's right now, but August is coming & I'm a glow in the dark redhead so usually top down is reserved for evenings and late afternoons. I'm open to suggestions, or do I just go back to another bosche & hope this one makes a year?
