damage to the sis's CLK320

well, my sis caused some damage to her car and the car has been in the shop for about a month now...

the story is that she drove onto the center median while trying to get rid of some bugs inside the car at night...she ran over couple of those newly planted trees on the median and the car took some damage. I know I know, I'm wondering WTF! too...I was in the car half asleep...good thing is that we are all okay.

dang, sorry to see that.... i hope everyone was ok from this hit... doesn't look TOOO bad, but looks like it needs some good handy work.

How is the insurance taking it? Whats your outta pocket costs? Are they raising her rates?

Next time, just open the window to let the bug fly out...

the car will be back in another week or two (possibily a lot of front suspension damage). the outta pocket coast is $1k, and after talking to our insurance agent they figure it's much cheaper to tab it on my dad's account. good thing we can do that because no other cars was involved and no police was called.

well, the car will be back on the driveway either tomorrow or saturday...I will get some more picture then.

Turns out three of the rims had to be replaced because it's damaged on the inside rim. I've not findout how much it cost to fix the car yet, but i'm guessing some where between 5-6k. Hopefully the car will run like the way it was after we got it back.

hope everything turns out well... unfortunately, it is hard for any car to be back as new after an accident... but lets keep our fingers crossed and shoot for the best....

muthafuka...my dad and sis went to pick up her car cuz the collusion center said the car will be washed and ready and sent to the service dept for pick-up since they don't open on weekend. When my dad and sis got to the service, the service manager did not even heard from the c-center and the car was not in the service dept's hand. So the service manager called the c-center manager and told him to come in and open the door at the c-center. When my dad and sis saw the car, it was fixed alright, BUT found out that the driverside door was not repainted because the damage made by the broken side mirror hanging there is still there. In the end, we didn't get the car back. it'll probably take another week or two for them to repaint the door and contact the insurance company again.

well, thats a typical body shop... they care less about the customer since basically you only take the car there when you absolutely need to, and once its there, you don't have much choice of taking the car back...

hope everything is done soon.

Wink Nice Pics

Thanks for posting the cool pics. Finally we have some sunny warm weather in So Cal so we can really enjoy our cars!
It looks like a good job on the CLK. Looks totally OEM. I love you split-spoke AMG wheels, though. Really nice!

dang, that is a nasty rip on the seats... but everything else looks great!

do you know how they are gonna fix it under warranty? restitch it? I doubt they will replace with new leather seats or cover.... let us know the outcome

we've talked to the service manager and he told the service advisor to order what ever is necessary to fix the damage. Hopefully we can get a new seatback cover... if not ...WARRRR

the most likely thing to happen is that they will have an upholstery guy come repair it... its just a matter of removing the seat covers, and restitching from the inside... let us know how it turns out though...

got the car back again. The whole seat back cover of the driverseat include the head rest was replaced under warranty. But, now, I'll have to do some extensive cleaning to the older part of the seat...

cool... which dealer did you go to that did the warranty work? I'm surprised they actually replaced it instead of bringing in someone to restitch it...
