Service Manual Suggestions

I'm looking to do some modifications to my '00 320 but I'd like them to be as clean and seamless as possible. This necessitates removing interior trim and some electrical work. I've signed up for a website alldatadiy in the past for basic service information but I wasn't really sold on it.

What do you suggest for what I need? I'm looking for one that has good detailed pictures.

It will run under XP. I've got an old XP box with it.

For 7 you'll need either 7 professional or ultimate. You'll have to install it in the XP partition (I've done it and am currently running it under 7 professional).

Hopefully this helps on the install. I recommend you print those instructions and follow steps 1 through 4 carefully. I've never had to install the Loopback Adapter. Some people claim they needed to.

I've run into an issue. I have the WIS now and I've installed it. It took me a minute to figure out how to use it but it's all fine until I get to the actual documents. They're all in German. I don't know how to change it. The version I have is 2006 or 2008. Anyone else run into this?

The link I posted explains how to change the language.

Hey Steve, happy holidays! It's currently at 181,000 and running like a clock. It's been the most reliable car I've ever owned.

That's beautiful. How long have you been driving? What was the mileage when you first purchased this car?

I bought this car in 2005. I don't remember the exact mileage, but it was under factory warrantee. It wa a CPO and had just come in from a MB 27-month lease.

Just about any WIS you find will cover your car. The one I'm currently using covers the 190 through the SLR. If you can't find it on ebay, shoot me a note and I'll burn you a copy for $20 shipped (continental US only). If you're in the service, or ex-service, I'll ship it on my nickle (free).

Thanks Marcus. I found a copy. Windows only though huh. I now have to debate if it's worth a virtual machine. :/
