18 19 or 20???
So I just brought a 2000 clk 320. Would love to put some rims.
Nothing to expensive....a couple years ago I had Acura with rims and low profiles. The ride was nasty, and I had flats every month.
What would you guys recommend?
Thanks
JC

I would 1st start off with 18s staggered.its more then just throwing rims on a car.evnetually you gonna have to start putting better suspension to keep up with the size wheels you want.the bigger the faster things wear out.

2000 CLK 320
When I bought my car, it had 19" Brabus Monoblock VI reps on it and it looked awesome. It rode ok too. I replaced them with 18" wheels and while it rides better, the stance and looks were better with the 19's. I wish I kept them.

99CLK320,
the larger diameter the rim the shorter the sidewall on the tire and the less flexible it will be thus a stiffer ride. the roads in my area suck so I didn't go any bigger than 17". Like you said "The ride was nasty, and I had flats every month". You don't want to do the same thing again, right?

I would start off wit some amg monoblocks.I did then I went to some 18s staggered aftermarket.once I found out more about suspension options and style Im on 19s and go back and fourth from 20s to 19s.im def gonna stay in the 19s range.they're not to big and not to small.

I have the exact same 19" staggered and the ride is not terrible. I can definitely feel the little bumps in the road more, but really not bad. I believe my suspension is stock. If you are more concerned with the looks than the ride, I love the way the 19" staggered looks. I live in FL and the roads are not bad compared to the north where the snow tears them up. So if you have bad roads or are really concerned with the comfort level, then I would go 18" or stock AMG 17".
