Ext Warranty from Courtesy Motors...
I inquired about the Daimler warranty... and here are the noteworthy facts:
- The longer you wait to buy it, the more it cost (based on the age & mileage of ur car)
- You can pick how many miles you can extend your warranty
- You are allowed to buy ONE extension on top of your extended warranty (good deal)
- It covers audio & other electronics (So this should cover your stereo, COMAND, etc.... which is something the MB Premium Ext warranty doesn't cover)
Everything else is pretty much the same. You can take the car to be serviced at any MB dealer... just like the Premium ext warranty
I'm glad that you are getting closure. It's not easy to be patient and to have faith when MB's database is insufficient...
Ben -
Since the Premium extended MB warranty does not become "effective" for another 3-4 years, the vendor and MB, - perhaps - does not view a delay of data entry onto the MB database the same way as the customer does.

oh, and for those people who have been impatient waiting for $100 painted side markers from Evosport to get PAINTED, try waiting 6 months on a $2200 warranty to get TYPED into a computer...
Just wondering if this was the same Lisa you are talking about..

I didn't even notice where the application was and how home made it looked. I actually just read the post and remembered the name from a posting on this forum. I didn't even get as far as checking out the form.
My understanding is that now they only offer a 3 year deal. I guess MB found out that they were giving away too much.
Excuse my ignorance, but you guys trust filling out a form with all your private info on a non-encrypted Geocities free website??!!??
you print it out, and fax it over to Courtesy Motors... Or, you can always mail it.

As mmgrad said, Lisa has explained to me that there are computer probs at the heart of delay. I started the whole process in early May. I was planning to sell the car around the 3 or 4 yr mark and this will make a nice investment. With only 4300 miles in 15 months on the car, it should have under 25K miles when I sell it. That equates to a 3 or 4yr 75K mile full warranty on a used 208 that is going to be in outstanding shape.

The extended warranty on the Benz does give you the flexibility to keep it or sell it. I think since it is the manufacturer's extended warranty, and can only be had in the first year, that there is an extra value to sell it with the car having not used it yet.
There are many cars to look to...beyond the 208, but I'm not sure there will be anything there to replace it. The wife wants an SL and I saw an E55 on the road today. The E look is OK and it's bloody fast, but I don't prefer the look over my stock W208. When the time comes, I can always keep my current car and not have to worry about expensive repairs, that's the key.
I have not checked with the dealer lately to see if I am in the system, however my cc was finally billed and I did get the form in the mail from Lisa.

I'm going crazy...
How much longer do I needa wait to get this thing done and over with... sigh...
Till this date, I'm still waiting for mine to get inputted into the system... I've called Lisa AT LEAST once everyday for the last 2 weeks, and everyday she tells me it should be in TOMORROW...

i spoke to the service guy today and the warranty i purchased from lisa is in their computer. i have it 'til 2009/100k
I dropped down to my knees and thanked HIM to finally see that this ordeal is over.....
It took MBUSA EXACTLY 7 MONTHS to input my Extended Warranty Purchase...
Faxed over my contract to Lisa on January 22, 2003, and finally, on August 22, 2003 I am faxed a copy of the VMI (Vehicle Master Inquiry) report showing that I purchased the extended warranty.
I'm so happy... so many good things happening lately.
Now go to sleep...hibernate.
You won't need it for another 3 years.
I was sitting on hot coals as well, when there was a delay...but Lisa in Cisco did come through.
When I got a printout from my Florida MB dealership I was just delighted. Great savings, enough to by a 5 mb digital camera!

oooh... maybe I should follow that same line of thinking... i've been wanting to get a Canon EOS SLR 10D camera.. if only i can afford the lenses....
Sony just announced an 8 megapixtel digital camera with a 28-220mm zoom to debut this November.
...and it's only $1,200.

If you want an action pic, forget it... cause by the time the shutter releases, your subject has already left the frame... thats why I wanted an SLR camera... snap snap snap...
The Canon 1Ds is awesome... 11.1 Megapixel, but at a price tag of over $8,000... that is just too crazy
The 828 is 2 lbs.
There will be a lot of Nikon and Canon prosumers switching to Sony 828.
From Lisa's $ 1k warranty savings I got myself a Nikon 5700.

Sofar I took 20k shots - very happy with the 5700, but because of the shutter/focus delay, not too good for action shots, unless I prefocus.
The P9 is only 7 oz.

Just sometimes when I want to take pics fast, the P9 is just way to slow... that, and I have to wait for the flash to recharge before shooting another pic at night... I definitely needa check out the new F828... looks hot...
Thanks again for your insight Karl
