Transmission Issue
I have a 1999 CLK 320. My issue from time to time is my car feeling like it falls out of gear sometimes around 65 MPH. It doesn't happen every-time I drive it but on the days it does it it'll keep doing it until the car sits for awhile... I can be going along just fine then it feel like it drops a gear & the RPM's will raise to about 3500-4000. I can give it more gas & speed up some & it'll go back to normal! When I had it scanned there were no transmission codes but it seems to me if it were the transmission it would do it every-time I drove the car. I only drive it every now & then but on the days I drive it more is when this happens. I can allow my car to sit awhile & it drives just fine. This has made me start to question is maybe it does this when the filter loads up with trash. PUZZLED

It sounds like it could be the transmissions valve body. I had the same problem, when the car is cold the transmission shifts with no problem. When you drive for a while it starts slipping and hard shifting. Replaced the valve body and the car shifts like new again.
