Blower regulator: What are the symptoms ?
A little history.
Have replaced regulator twice:
May 30, 2010 Replaced, autohausaz.com $106.77 (lasted 2 years)
April 23, 2007 Replaced, Carstuff $109.95 (lasted 3 years)

About 2 months ago, got condenser replaced, 0 rings replaced, a/c recharged.
Problem began about a month ago, and is getting worse.
Current symptoms:
Start car, A/C doesn't blow, can feel very slight cold at center vent with back of my hand. Have fan set to highest speed. Have temp set to "Low".
Sometimes begins to blow normally as soon as I start the car.
Sometimes begins to blow after about 2-5 minutes of driving.
Sometimes, won't blow at all until I pull over to curb, turn off ignition for about 10 seconds, restart, then begins to blow after about 2-5 minutes of driving.
Also, fan speed does not always seems to match with setting.
Also, fan does not "wildly" fluctuate.
Also, when it blows, it blows nice and cold.
Also, it was 92 degrees today, and I wear a suit & tie--not pretty.

Questions, before I install another new regulator:
1. Does this sound like a typical regulator problem ?
2. If not, then what would cause these symptoms ?
3. What else to check on Re. these symptoms ?

Those were the same symptoms I had when I changed my regulator. Except I didn't know about the turn it off/on routine. In my case I know it was the regulator because it fixed the problem immediately and it hasn't happened since. Although it hasn't been three years yet either. I hope you get this permanently fixed.

Might just be time for the blower motor itself. The regulator regulates, but if the motor is binding it will act like a faulty regulator. May want to try and remove the motor and see how freely it moves.

Set the alarm clock on the nightstand to go off at 6AM Thursday morning so that I could get some time to tinker before work. Pulled the regulator and the blower. Expected to see something peculiar. Nothing peculiar. Blower spun effortlessly, as though in a frictionless environment. Couldn't tell whether the motor brushes were good or bad, since I have zip experience with brushes. Squirted the brushes with electrical cleaner where they make contact with the shaft. Put it all together, and has been working like new for the last two days. So, by applying primitive deductive reasoning--it must be the brushes. I'm good with primitive--suits me.

Now, will look for brushes for this motor.
I'll start at the grocery store, and work my way into oblivion from there.

Any tips ?
