Where did this body kit come from?
I always see people asking for real DTM kits, and this is the closest thing I have ever seen to one. Does anyone know if this is a custom kit or if it is available for sale?
Renntech like Ben said. That was from 98 or 99 when they fitted a v12 into the CLK. One and only car I believe. I also remember it caught on fire or something when some magazine was testing the car.

Is there any good looking widebody kit for the clk? I love widebody kits and I actually dont mind the one in the pic.
Auto Couture makes this one...
I dont know if you consider "fender flares" as "wide-body," but they are nice pics to look at

C&D Test
The last sound heard from the sleek RENNtech CLK60SC as it disappeared down the straightaway sounded something like "BrrrrUUUMMM . . . ka-BLAP!"

a more interesting article to read is when they tried testing the supercharged version of the CLK60...

so my memory was correct...It did blow up
"This rebuff from lady luck happened just as the CLK's ill fortune seemed to be improving. The car was nothing but a tempestuous brat during the One Lap of America last May, finishing the event ignominiously on the back of a transporter headed south. Upon arriving in Michigan for our June shootout, it spent all but 4.7 miles of the preliminary road drive choking on a faulty mass-airflow meter, one of the few stock parts on the supercharged 510-hp, 6.0-liter V-8. The engine would entertain nothing more than quarter-throttle."
The body styling on the GTX is a lot more subtle, but I can't stand the kit on the GT. There was a post a while back about a "celebrity RENNTech clk55" on ebay in some aweful orange color. That one had the GTX kit. Honestly, out of the RENNTech body treatments I've seen, I only like two: Jim Wald's w210 E60 T-model (Awesome flaring) and the CL203 widebody.
