19" rims fitment
I just converted last week from Japanese to German (Prelude Type S -> CLK320) and I'm very happy with this move!!
My first planned upgrade deals with changing my nasty stock 16" alloys. Is it taboo to stick Japanese rims on my CLK? I have a set of 19" Racing hart C-5 3-piece rims in my possession, but the lug pattern is different (5 by 114.3mm). My question is...how well can CLK hold 19s (8.5" front and 9.5" rear) ? Also, is it advisable to use wheel adapters to fit my C-5s? If so, where and how can I get a hold of such adapters? Which lowering springs should i consider with 19s? I just want to get rid of the wheel gap a little and not go too crazy.

19x8.5 and 9.5 will fit as for springs your best bet is to go with lorinser or barbus, but eibach does make a good set of springs for clk and they are alot cheaper. Check with dazzmotorsport or wheelpower to see if they make a adapter for your c-5's but I would recomend a wheel made for mercedes because adapters are never that good. There are some nice deals on wheels in the classifieds of mbworld. Good luck!
P.S. I have 19x8.5 and 9.5 rears lowenhart LD1's on mine with lorinser springs and the rear fit is tight but it works.

I had 265/35/18 with 10x18 wheels on my CLK430 before and they just barely make it. I really doubt if 275/35/19 is the right size for yr car. I think it should be 265/30/19 instead.
Good luck!

There isn't enough difference in the backspacing to run an adapter. You prob be better off getting wheels drilled 5:112 already.
235/35/19 and 265/30/19 is the correct fitment on that car. As long as the offset is higher than 31 you should not need any mods to the fenders.
