GAs Gauge not Working - What fixes?

Last week my gas guage started staying at empty; later it would jump to amount of gas in tank. Later it started to go from empty to Full. Now it stays at Empty. What is involved to fix? Going to dealer a week from Wednesday.

Same Problem

I had the same problem about a year ago. Dealer replaced some module in the gas tank. No problem since then.

Unfortunately, that's a very well know problem with the W208. Think you're going to need that module replaced as well.

Same thing happened to me. It seems to have fixed itself though. I thought it might have been the fuel sending unit so I purchased one to have my mechanic replace it. But since the problem seems to have gone away for now I will hold off.

Had mine changed as well.

Happened once again when I tipped off my tank.

so, is this problem prompted by frequently topping off the fuel tank during refills?

I've learn to never top off once it clicks off, and thus far, no problems yet.

Ben, do you know why your car is constantly going through fuel gauge sensors?

Call Your Dealer and Talk to the Service manager...Ask For Goodwill on the Sending Units..Its a KNOWN Problem!
If the Dealer wont help you call Mercedes and ask for help!
