Internal cabin heat takes a while to warm up, what should I check?

Hi Guys,

Winters here and it may be normal, but my car seems to take about 10-15mins to get warm inside and seems a little slow compared to my wifes brand new c class that seems to heat in a few minutes!

1- The car engine temperture remains good and does not get overly hot so would this mean that the thermostat is ok, ?

2- Should I check the small duo-valve, would this make the car heat up slower if dirty?

Thanks

watch your engine temperature and see when you get heat in the cabin vs engine temperature. I don't drive the same vehicle as you, but I start to feel heat when my engine is around 40 degrees Celsius and it gradually gets warmer from there.

I think now my car is fine, its just from driving my wifes new C Class and that the weather has been -7 C it seems that its taking longer but really its normal.

at the rear of the motor on the firewall the heater core is inside the cabin and Not a job for you to check physically or attempt to replace as 99% of everything inside the car has to come out to get to it dashboard airbags etc. However there will be two coolant hoses going through the firewall at the back of the motor one is an in and the other is the out for the heater core unplugg the both of them and use a hose to flush water through the firewall where you unhooked the hoses from until clean water comes out the other end. The valve will be attached to the "in" hose it allows coolant to flow in and out of the heater core to produce heat
