Does anyone have these sunroof problems?

i have 2 problems w/ my sunroof. if i open my sunroof all the way while driving 65MPH or more, i can NOT close it completely when I park. It will close until there's a 1cm gap, and then stop. I have to fidget back and forth with the open/close control for about 5 minutes before it will allow me to close it all the way.

the second problem i have is that if i have my sunroof open , and drive at speeds of 42MPH-45MPH, my whole car vibrates extremely loudly..... it's so loud that you think the car is going to fall apart. it's similar to a loud bass sound....then at 46MPH, the sound goes away.

if anybody has experienced similar problems, please let me know.

thanks,
AL

lucky to say that I haven't had any problems such as that on my CLK.

The only sunroof problems I've had is the noise generated by opening & closing, which is easily fixed by re-greasing the tracks a little... nothing else outside that..

Your sunroof has to be reset. Read your owner's manual on how to do it (I think you close it the whole way and hold the button there for 10 sec).

reset the sunroof? but it doesn't even auto close... so why would you need to reset it?

he doesn't have problems opening it, so there shouldn't be any need to reset that auto open feature...

i had the same problem as you.

the vibration and resonance issue i had from day one. I think it was just bad design. My car was 2000 model.

anything over 100 kmh, my roof wouldnt close all the way. I thought it might be a feature in the car or something, but it turned out to be electroni malfunction.

I don't have a sunroof problem but instead sometimes I can't close my window on the driver's side

Sounds something like your problem clkal

i have a 2000 and had that same problem.
i did the reset deal but it still happened. i finally fixed the problem by manually cranking the sunroof close and then using the key to open and close the roof.
it worked for me and i hope it will work for you.

Ahmed-

did you ever get the sunroof problem fixed? Or do you just drive faster than 45 MPH at all times when the roof is open?

nope, never fixed it. just had to live with it. Besides i always drive above 45!! Its too hot here to have the roof open. And i sold the car last month so the new owner has to put up with it now!
