The old girl hung with 2014 GT3s in the mountains

I don't know what the speed limit is at this point, but I am confident we weren't doing it.

And the chase car:

It was just cool fulfilling my dream of driving my CLK up that pass, and then doing so behind 3 unreleased "supercars."
Believe me, I am fully aware of how slow my car is haha. The thread title was made tongue in cheek.

I have a bud at work who invited me to race with local Porsche club in Autocross and Rallying events, Its really a blast and the CLK is a bit heavier but can out power in 1,2 gear WOT events. The events are for charity but it introduced me to other clubs that do it on a regular basis.
This kind of sport does not damage the car either. Just maintain it properly.
I have some videos and some stills but need to find a better software for sharing them besides thumbnails and album links.
Thanks for sharing that with us, looks like a lot of fun. The Caimans are deadly
Cheers, Gator
Gators eat Caimans for breakfast, LOL
(only car in the group thats not a mustang). About two weeks ago they invited me on a cruise up to Sedona which involved some twisty canyon runs up the 89A. We all drove the hell out of our cars and it was a blast, I did more than keep up with them. I was on the GT's *** the whole time. The CLK stays door to door with all of the GT's pre-2010, even the ones with full bolt on mods. The new 5.0 though walks away from the 430.Some of you might judge that I drive with mustangs pretty often but CLK's just arent plentiful... Let alone car enthusiasts that love to drive and mod their CLK's. For me its all about indulging in my hobby with great friends.
The w208 is truly amazing. Especially coming up to 200,000 miles my car is still a beast. It's not ridiculously fast but it is fast enough to keep a smile. I honestly have no idea how they still give brand new cars a run for their money. I have no doubt that you kept up with the GT3's in the mountains. Must be the torque curve or something...
Here's a few pics from the cruise right before we went up and down the canyon

Would love to have a w208 meet here in the mid-west, I just don't think there are enough of us for it

I will always have blue blood ford racing in my veins from racing and hot rods in the past. Any mustang turns my head but the exhaust note tells me where I might stand. Never had a contender. go figure
There is a lot going on out there for euro fans who want to and have time to get involved. Peach parts member started a local gathering in his yard that seemingly turned into a national event on an annual basis. The MB dealership caters to so many different cultured people and types of MB cars a local Dealer hosted BBQ might be a nightmare. LOL
Organization and Club membership might be best started on the local Craigslist or something, I have the space but not the time like most.
Mid west - go for it
