I am about to purchace a clk320, and the guy who I am buying it from says he uses silver gas in it. He has only had it for about 7 months and bought it as a stamark certified used vehicle. Does using the wrong fuel cause serious engine damage?

The engine has a knock sensor to prevent damage with low grade fuel so I would think the engine would be fine.

Hard to say for sure

I don't think so. If the price was right I'd buy it. The injectors may have some deposits so run some very good high octane fuel thru it for a few thousand miles.

At that price I'd say definitely go for it. If it doesn't have any remaining warranty on it then I would take it to a dealership and have them do a pre-sale check on it, just for peace of mind.

FYI, a 320 with those specs would run for around $24-26K here in L.A.

Hey Samoan_Ryder, out of curiosity I'm wondering what my CLK would run for in LA. It's a 99 430 with all options and it had 52000 miles when I purchased it. It now has 56500.

sean6543 - I have to agree with the others that you found a good deal provided it has a clean title. Congrats!

great price. jump on it as long as it has a clean title and has been in no major accidents.

W213 '17 E43 ///AMG - W211, W208 no more
i suggest that once you get the CLK that you pump only premium fuel in there... treat your baby right... poor fuel grade and degrade the engine's performance... may even make the car idle rough
