One $12 Can of Spray Tint Later...
So I notice that most AMG edition cars come with the clear part of the tail lights lightly smoked - really cool look IMO. However the 208 AMG's never came this way so I couldn't just go buy the lights for the OEM look. Enter VHT Nite-Shades. After removing the lights from the car and a quick masking job (use the blue plastic masking tape for the edges) and then mask off the whole light with regular masking tape) I applied the tint spray. Use very light sweeping strokes and do VERY thin coats. Although it may not look to be the right shade as you're applying it, this stuff darkens as it dries so you might end up applying too much and having to remove it and start over. To get this look, two very light coats were used.

NICE!!
how long does this last? And also, what is the difference between DIY or having a professional do it? I mean if the Profeesional uses the same process, i would assume the quality and durability isn't much different from a DIY.
Thanks,

Not really sure how long it lasts. I did this to a friend's Golf about 3 years ago and it still looks the same. As far as quality goes, it depends on who's doing the job. If you've never done this before then it probably won't look as professional as it could. My lights, however were masked, smoked, sanded and polished so it's as professional as it's going to get ;0)
