1999 CLK320 Stereo Noises

Hey Gang,
Got my AC issues sorted for now thanks to you all...

Now, after a good heavy rain, I'm noticing that front right speaker cuts in and out occasionally, and last week, after a good rainfall, in the morning, I noticed that the stereo was on but no volume could be heard...
As I drove on, slowly something must have dried out during the 45 min. commute, and once or twice during the drive the front left speaker emitted a very loud sound like that of a power hailing horn for 5-10 secs.
Where can I find info on where this Bose power amp is, because I'm thinking that something needs to be insulated/waterproofed to prevent this from happening again.
By the way, the car came with an aftermarket Pioneer car stereo installed, but I still have the original MB Head unit too.

Any ideas/suggestions would be great!

Thanks!

On my car the Bose amp is in the trunk, more specifically mounted on the wall that separates the rear of the passenger cabin and the trunk. Be advised though I have a cab so for me water would have to be invading the trunk space for for water shorting out the amp to be the culprit. No expert but if you have sound out of the other speakers it would seem that your problem is downstream of the amp, possibly water leaking into the door and shorting out the speaker. Just a thought.

Did somebody say the words "aftermarket head unit" and "advice"? This is an ancient link, but it does offer advice. Someone with a good looking double decker should post some photos and tell us about your features. Something that's been installed in the past 18 months. Preferably a brand name.
