Lowering a CLK55 Cabriolet / convertible H&R

I've searched & come up empty handed, hoping someone can help..?

I just got off the phone w/ H&R, the gal said neither the 430 Cab, nor the 55 coupe springs will fit the W208 CLK55 Cabriolet... I'm doubting this, but don't want to order something that won't fit. Can anyone please advise? and if they in fact do not make a spring for the 208 55 cab, than can anyone recommend a manufacturer who does (other than a complete coilover system).

Thanks in advance.

how low are you looking to go? for a drop of 1-1.5" just get a set of mercedes euro spec springs.... and dont forget the camber adjustments that will be needed front and rear... euro springs should be able to be adjusted with factory hardware.... lower than that and youll need a camber bolt kit also

Hi, thanks for chiming in, looking to go about a 1 finger +- gap. I had a 03' CLK430 Cab dropped on H&R Sports and Bilstein's (lowered shims too, forget what specs), and yes camber kits are a must!

I saw the posts on the "euro" springs, which seem to have 1 US part number, and 1 that my guy can't access in his parts system at MB.. but I don't think that drop was low enough for what I'm going for..? Maybe with the 5mm shims..perhaps...?

I'm tempted to just order the H&R Sport kit #29749-4 for the 430 Cab, and have my guy try it.. if it doesn't fit.. than.. I guess I just return it..

Would you know of any other mfgr's springs w/a drop (and feel) comparable to H&R sport that I can order? if not, do you know who I can currently order the "euro" spring combo from?

Thanks in advance.

hi
i saw some pics of clk's in usa and i would say they are way too high i guess the euro springs with thinner spring pads will lower them as low as you want to.
thanks

^^
This was my 430 Dropped, I'm chasing this look, but maybe this time with thicker shims... I "think" I'm just going to order the 430 Cab springs and let my mechanic confirm.. I should know in the next 1-2 weeks if no one else can confirm.

looks like h&r is the way to go... there are cheaper brands out there but they look like junk... eibach seems only to make kits for the coupe

Gotcha, probably since you have the "euro" model your ride height was a bit lower to begin with..? I wonder if due to the shims, or due to the OEM springs for the euro being shorter?...

Either way, my parts are ordered and should be installed in the next 2 weeks..presuming the parts listed for the 430 convertible fit OK. I'll let everyone know as soon as I do.

...I'm also doing a little something to the engine too more about that to come...

99CLK320,
I have a set of Vogtland springs I will let go that will fit a 320/430 and will give about an inch gap if you are interested.
