Bought HRE and need tire size help
The wheels are HRE 547 Polished finish
front = 18 x 8.5 ET 37
rear = 18 x 9.5 ET 27
tires I want to put on
front = 235/40 ZR 18 or 245/35 ZR 18
rear = 265/35 ZR 18 or 275/30 ZR 18
spoke to HRE and they suggested 235/40
and 265/35 for the rear....but ....Im looking
for an extremely aggressive stance but no
fender rolling

The BEST tire size combination for your wheels are: 225/40/18 & 255/35/18 because that yields an overall diameter that is most comparable to factory specifications.
If you want a wider, more aggressive stance, you can opt for a 235/40/18 & 265/35/18 (this is what I used when I had 18s). This combination will work just as well, but the above would be a better fit.
I wouldn't suggest using 245/275 combination... that is quite wide, and not a good choice for our CLKs, especially since you have your car lowered too.... it might have been ok if ur car wasn't lowered, but it is, so... I wouldn't suggest it...
Also, I'm a little concerned about your rear wheels having a +27mm offset... that is quite extreme... Were these wheels custom made for a w208 clk? cause at that offset, I have a feeling it is gonna rub like crazy inside and may hit your rear axle/axle bolt...
you should have gotten a wheel with +35 offset....

mmgrad wouldnt a 35 offset make the wheel lip go in further than a 27 offset. I thought with the wheel being 27....only 3mm lower than stock it would of made the wheel stick out that much more not the other way around hitting the axle bolt.. I could be wrong but the lower the offset the deeper the lip and may cause rubbing of the fenders instead of the inside. Dont know if Im explaining this too well but are you sure that 27 wont be good the wheels were made for a CLK 55

yes, factory rear wheels are +30mm offset, so, by measuring JUST the offset, you are right that there is only a 3mm difference..
But, don't forget that the factory wheels are only 8.5" wide... given that the HRE wheels are 9.5" wide, you have to add another 1/2 inch on each side of the central point...
therefore, you now have an offset that is at least 13mm different (half an inch is about 10mm)...
by having a smaller offset, you are essentially mounting the wheels closer to the inside... so careful...

OK now I understand what you're saying now that us cutting it close...I actually called HRE and spoke to Chuck there and he confirmed that the offsets will work. They were slightly different from their specs. but not by much.

i think the 27mm may work... it just sits closer than I'd like it to be...
I find that most wheels with an offset of 35 +/- 2mm works best and are typically most trouble free...
but, since your car isn't lowered that much, it shouldn't be much of a concern... hopefully...

I have the 235/265 combo and it works fine. The 245/275 did not fit even before I had my car lowered.

oops... damn, I keep on confusing myself...
my bad, a +27mm will push the wheels further towards the outside of the car, not inside...
damn it.... lack of sleep... sorry...
so, essentially, if you look from above the wheel, you will notice that the wheel/tires will stick out the fenderwell a little... enough where if it was lowered, your fenders may be sitting ON your tires...
