if i recall correctly, CND dollars are like .5-.75 american dollars....which means you only paid around $200-275 for a "B" service. At a dealer, that is pretty inexpensive. I remember having to pay $700 on time for a "B" service at the dealer.

now i just bring my car to a local shop for my a and b services to avoid the high costs of the dealers.

Damn this is why I'm considering selling my car. That is just rediculous.

this is the exact reason why you gotta get to know your SA... my advisor is pretty cool with me since we are both young...

he hooks me up good... he gives me discounts on parts... and he told me i'll never pay full price for any service for as long as he works there... now that is comforting words...

every SA who works at SMYTHE EUROPEAN is an old fart with personal grudges against the younger generation who own the nicer, fixed up Mercedes. I gave Smythe 4 chances, each with a different SA. All were old grumpy *** men who were old-school. No discounts at all. FULL PRICE!

Beschoff Motor Cars in SJ has a little better prices, however, the service advisors do not have a lot of experience with mercedes. They have mostly women that are SA's. I guess that is supposed to attract the men who own benz. I gave them a try one time, and my SA was so unknowlegable that I didn't even leave my car there. I ended up taking my car to a local shop. =(

Autobahn Motors is the only Mercedes Dealer that I had a good experience with. My SA offered me an E class loaner (which i found out is not usually offerered, offered me 10% off , and made my overall experience an enjoyable one.

Bottom line is this.... most experienced local shops can do the services that the dealerships do at usually around 50-60% of the cost. You just have to live w/o a loaner car.

that is true... servicing the benz after warranty sucks major... their rates are so damn inflated it is ridiculous...

but, thats how they can afford to offer us loaner cars while its in service...

ya, the warranty cover things for 2 years i think, brake pads, windshield wiper etc...

after 2 years, and service B, the warranty changes to cover only main car component.

you guys can double check with your tech on that to be sure.
