not to bring up this arguement again, but do u honestly believe that a CLK320 with AMG body kit, wheels and exhaust doesnt warant an AMG badge on the right side of the trunk?

It was on the left side of the trunk lid, not right side. No it does not warrant putting the badge on. People buy the ///AMG for specific reasons. And to see someone badge their vehicle and parade it around like it is something it is not is hilarious to say the least.

Um.. I wasn't being a personal evangelist, but I guess that goes along with ldangeli 3:16, so, here we go. Why front? And then when confronted, its not bad enough that your fronting, but then you act like the car is what it isn't? HAHA

so if a guy spends a **** load of money on AMG optical paskages, he damn well deserves to stick the AMG badge on the right! But should not change the badge on the left!

Hey when I started this thread it was to complain/understand some of the MB "issues" that I thought were important. In the beginning (ie-100 posts ago) I got trashed for buying a 1998 CLK 320 and even more trashed for not test driving my mothers 2002 CLK320. The main reason I did not test drive it was because I drove THE car I was going to buy, and relied on my mother's opinion of her MB. Well, today I drove mommy's car. DAMN IT WAS NICE!!! I could'nt belive how much beter the car was, suspension, acceleration and smoothness WOW!!! My car sucks, it must have been ragged out. I don't know?? Interestingly, my mom and I switched cars (after I convinced her, see I am 26 and she still thinks I will automatically get into an accident if I drive her car, must have been something to do with crashing daddy's 1997 Lotus Esprit Turbo when I was younger) with her for a drive to dinner, jesus, her car was nice, she drove mine and noticed nothing different, but I did. Got to get a 2000+ MY CLK320...... So smooth and quick.....

Funny you should mention that RVAL. I was watching my parents pooches not to long ago and let my Parents (considerably older individuals) take the CLK for a drive. Now comparing it to their E, C, and S8, they saw some minor differences and basically were like, "oh its nice, but why change the wheels"... OH ITS NICE!! Are you kidding. Breathe...
Seriously though, it just goes to show you that people drive cars for different reasons, and non-enthusiasts can't tell the difference between a ford and a benz..
I know we can...

I agree! My wife is not into cars at all. In fact, she could care less about what she drives. She views it as transportation and that's all, or as she says "it's just a car, it gets you from point A to point B".
She had a 1993 Nissan Sentra with 150k miles on it up until a few years ago, and was prefectly happy with it. I thought it was just a front since we both grew up without nice cars, and I bought her a BMW 528i for her birthday. She likes it, but is not crazy about it. I also let her drive my car, with the same results.
I notice little noises in cars and have to get them fixed, and it's a must to keep it clean. With her, if it runs and rolls then it serves it purpose.
Having said that, some folks are just not into cars, but many of US are into them ad forums like this can be a great deal of fun to share info and experiences provided it's all in fun. When the member bashing begins, the fun and purpose is gone in MY opinion.
We are all proud of our vehicles and we should not judge each other on what we do to our cars. Each and every mod is our way of individualizing something we take pride in and tempers can flare when someone criticizes someones creativity. Different people like different things and express our individuality in different ways. Just because it's not our way of doing things doesn't mean they are wrong and we are right. It's THEIR car, so let them do with it what they want to. That's their right. Just as with many other things in this world, people do things that we don't agree with but the fact still remains it their life so let them live it the way they want to since we were not put here on earth to be the judges and juries of the rest of the world.

Very well said. I have to admit, I have gotten into the member bashing and I have to apologize to those members. On the other hand, even though I do not agree with the ideals of some of the members whom I have sparred with, you are right, its their cars, like it is MY car and it is their opinion, like it is MY opinion.
You are absolutely right about the view of "it gets you from point A to point B". I love hearing that. Makes me laugh. But all in all, some folks could care less. Others like us are fanatical about certain things.
Well good luck with the car / wife / board.
