Blue hue on CLK windows? Huh?
Ok, so I'm walking to class today and I see this parked White CLK430 with perfectly translucent windows, but they have this very light hint of blue to it. It's about the "blue-ness" of the blue tint on exterior side mirrors. Very very light hint of blue to the windows.
I was wondering--is this something that can be bought as an option? It's the only CLK I've seen like this. In fact, it's the only MB I've seen like this. It seriously did not look bad at all. Kinda intriguing actually.
Anyone know what's up with it? Is it a UV protectant tint? I have no idea.
I'm not exactly familiar with MB's. I'm from the other side.......the BMW side.
Thanks.
Justin

It is standard in the US on the CLK430 & CLK55
and is standard on Avantgarde Models in Europe, the tint in the mirror is the automatic dimming mirrors

i think the stock tinted/smoked glass is on all clks if im not mistaken. i have it on mine, and mine is a 99. i've seen it on other clks so i dont believe that it is an option.

TINT
Yeah....I actually didn't notice the tint when I got mine...believe it or not...I didn't notice until I had it for a couple of days.
It is kinda cool...and I have the ash interior.
Has anyone put a tint ON TOP of this tint? If so....what percent?
Presumably...it would make the resulting tint a bit darker than you would expect?

2000 CLK430
There were many changes for MY2000. The blue tint on the CLK430 model (only) was one of them. I have added aftermarket smoke tint on mine, as well. It is 35% and you can still see a hint of blue.

I love how clever people here are.
Normal auto glass has a green tint to it. 430 and 55 glass has a blue tint to it.
There are always about 5 threads about window tinting open- why don't you just look at all the dozens of tinted 430s if you want to see what aftermarket tint looks like?

Blue Hue
I have an Orion Blue '02 CLK with ASH interior that I just got last week. Actually, I did not notice it at first, but I started to get a lot of compliments from people. It looks great with the color. I just play along when people admire it. They think I installed it as an aftermarket or option.

2001 Mercedes-Benz E430
Is there any way put the "Blue" tint on another Benz? Aftermarket perhaps? I have an E430 and would love to have it.
I'm not really fond of tinted windows...with all of the money that I've spent for my cars, I kinda like to be seen in 'em. But, I'd buy the "Blue" tint.
Any recommendations?
