Hi Guys,
Went to germany today to collect my new CLK cabriolet that I had on order - and as you know from my last poll - i've sold it back to UK dealer in return for a CL500 (plus some cash).
Well here are some pictures, together with someones SL55 waiting to be picked up.
I also found out whilst I was there, that the current S55 and CL55, which their facelifts will come out in October, are to have their engines replaced with the 500bhp 5.5 kompressor engine from the SL55. Put your deposits down now if you want a 500bhp S or CL!
Anyway, here are some pics - I'm not too sure on the seats myself, kinda look 'patchy' to me:

I thought something was awry at first, but I realized you mean the interior is designo silver. Europeans are lucky that they can choose individual designo options. Americans have to take them as overpriced packages that include interior, exterior, and trim, and there are only 2 packages offered per model line.
The seats look OK to me, although I do understand what you mean by "patchy." Beats the monotony of solid charcoal, though.
I do hope you ditch those wheels for some 17" or 18" AMGs. Those 7-spokes just don't look right with the AMG styling.
BTW, you might want to shrink the photos, they took a good 2 minutes to load.

Is that the new E-class in the background of one of the pics? *drool* It's out already in Europe?
Oh yeah, your steering wheel is on the wrong side, you really should get that fixed.

Yep, that's the new E in the background. They had three in the showroom and a couple waiting to be picked up. Very smart looking car. Interior reminded me of the SL.
Brian, I had the 18" Multipiece III wheels and summer tyres on order with the car, but cancelled once I realised I was selling the car. The tyres on those wheels in the pic are standard MB snow tyres.

2002 CLK 55 AMG Coupe ;)
Tnx Maff for the variety of pix and heads up on the CL engine changes. There is speculation that the headlights for the CL 2003 will be the "MB peanut-style". Any comment on that?
Re your "patchy" interior seat appearance concern...well, - it is!
These color breaks occur not only at the seams, but within a seat leather surface without a seam, which -to me- seems too much, too busy, too much patchwork.
The designo two-tone edition that I prefer is the charcoal or black/dark blue combi...

Thanks Maff for sharing the pictures with us. The designo interior looks great! Did you visit other car manufacturer in Germany?
