Two tone interior available?
Im assuming it is fairly rare to find a two tone 430 interior.
Thanks
it was restricted to certain exterior colors and it cost extra (special order charge) + the option itself to have it...I think the two tone would have been almost $2k altogether. It may have also required the heated seat option in combination.
With the price for the V8 + cabrio and the extra charge for the two-tone it would rack up the price even higher - the two tone combo does look nice though.
There were three non-AMG (and non-Designo) two tone interiors offered:
Ash / Dark Ash
Charcoal / Red
Charcoal / Dark Blue
In the Designo (US offering) you had:
Light Brown in the Mocha Black
Charcoal / Slate Blue with Slate Blue package
Pebble (gray color) with the Cashmere package for the '03
The US AMG models
(Cabrio 55 only had exclusive charcoal interior)
Charcoal / Silver
Charcoal / Blue
Charcoal / Charcoal
Totally agree, the two tone interior really adds a finishing touch to the CLK.
One further question guys...do the CLK's have head airbags and rear passenger side airbags?
Thanks again,

i went with the Kleemann two-tone interior in my car....charcoal nappa leather with burgundy alcantera inserts in the middle of the seats, front of the headrests(front and rear), and on the doors. nappa leather also replaces the rear armrest and door panels which were plastic before. smells like a baseball glove.

Too bad the car is extremely overpriced for the mileage/options.
Hey Bruce, my interior is black is well, how much did it cost you to do the inserts by the way ..... it looks GREAT

I saw a magma red clk 320 with a charcoal/red interior. It looked sooooooo goood
I have the European market W208 brochures and it shows a Magma Red w/ charcoal/red interior like you describe. It would have been a lot of red (especially the dash and steering wheel), but it would have been distinctive.
I think you could get this in Canada...I played around on the CN website and could configure combinations not offered to U.S. - even on the 320.
At the time in 2001 I visited the Sindelfingen plant, they were out of Designo brochures that day, but the W208 book I got even shows a dark green/charcoal interior in the pix.
You couldn't get that combination in the U.S. - in fact only the CLK430 had two tone interiors as an option.

just that it's unusual.
Not knowing the exact details of what country that particular 320 was produced for is what my comment is about.
Just that the only way to get the charcoal/red interior with a US spec W208 car was:
CLK430 with exterior color of
Black (non-metallic)
Black Opal
Obsidian Black
I looked into it at the time I was placing my order, and I didn't want a body color of black - this was both for MY00, MY01 and MY02.
My car came w/ black leather interior, I did a silver suede(alcantara) insert on all seats. Here's a picture:

That looks sick Bruce. I originally wanted a two-tone interior when I was in the market for a CLK but the only ones I could find were either designo editions (and they were out of my price range) or CLK55 (which was also out of my price range at the time).. It could definitely be worth doing an aftermarket job on it if the place is trustworthy and you know they will do a good job.
BTW
Petite show us some pics w/ the burgundy inserts
