Raced an E46 M3 and a 04' Acura TL

Let me say the M3 is a fast car...it jumped out 3 cars ahead and I never caught up till 120 mph. He wasnt pulling afterward but the best thing about it was the take off especially the manual M3. He beat me by 3 car lengths to 100 MPH

the 04' Acura TL I beat 3 times from standstill by 3 car lengths and once from a roll by 2 car lengths

I know the clk isnt for racing but I always wanted to know how it faired up and Im quite impressed.

anyways thought I would share

Lou

Yeah the 430 is much faster that people give it credit for. I've had no problem with E36's but I know I'll get my *** kicked by an e46 until I get some kind of forced induction solution. :0)

i don't get why u can catch up with the e46 at 120. i think m46 has better drag and more power and 1 more gear than you do. plus your limter is at 135 i think he is at 155.

on the other hand the tl has about the same amout of hp. if it's a 6sp it supose to 0-60 in 5.7 seconds (Faster than us) so i don't think u can gain 3 car lenght on him.

and that means the e46 will have 6 car lenght over the tl. i don't think that's very posible. 6 car length is very long!

so i have to hold up the

if u catch up at 120 with the m3 then he must backed off cuz u just can't catch up with him.

Ok I think you needed a complete story cause you are over analyzing it too much. First of all I we all raced on the same street 4 times, three times from a stop and once from a roll

the M3 took off and was clearly at least 3 car lenths ahead by the time I shifted to second gear. I never caught up and I was doing 120 and we both shut down at that time...I thought I would gain after but no gain.

the tl is an 04' tl auto and yes the M3 was clearly at least 6 car lengths ahead of the tl.

have you ever dragged your car and know what 6 car lengths ??? well if not then find out before you raise your flag

why would I need to lie about losing to an M3 and beating a 04' tl. all you've done is make me question all your post cause only a liar thinks everybody is bullsh_tting ????

or better yet find out how many car lengths from a 14.8 quarter mile car like the 04' tl auto and an M3 which is like a 13.5 sec car...so whats that 1.3 sec.....now find out what that is in car lengths before raise flag

im just saying i don't think our 430s are that fast. i've been up to 125 on the way to vegas with a g35 and we were like side by side. and i don't think the Tl is that much slower than the 430.

sorry about the other part i thought u said u caught up with him at 120.

its cool bro

I know but dont underestimate the clk430 it has grunt

by the way the difference between a 02' M3 and a 04' tl auto in a quarter mile race is about 13 to 14 car length

for every 1/10 is a car length ~

the o4' tl auto is a 14.8 car so my take my car is 14.5 cause I beat him by 3 car lengths

Hey guys, very nice site here, I like it alot....My question is...What do the 430's do in the 1/4 mile? I know they aren't setup for that but I am wondering! Maybe when I sell my e36, I can get a CLK430...That's what I am shooting for! Thanks!
