CLK430 AMG??? sorry bro, but there is no such thing... you might even get grief from others on the forum saying that you are posing to be an AMG owner...

Opps, well lets put it this way: CLK-430 with AMG body package or whatever they freaking call it. Sorry for not being in the "know", this is my first benz.

lol there is this black clk 430 i saw the other day by this mcdonald. it was a 00+ (with the mirror lights). black lowered with 19inch lowenhart chorme. it has spoiler and roof spoiler. and the owner has a AMG badge on the original location lol!.

if i was him id take off the 430 and get a 55 sign off ebay. But im happy with my 430.

There must be some room for error there because I had my 02 CLK 430 to around 139-140 a couple of nights ago and slowed down due to heavy wind on a bridge. It may have been just before limiting, but it didn't act like it AT ALL. I just bought it a couple of weeks ago, so I'm still testing and learning.

it seems that some cars will go over the limiter...my friend in his C32 (which is limited to 155) hit 160 (i know, he's crazy)

is your car stock? or the previous owner could've taken off the limiter. i highy doudt the limiter will stop working, because many people spend thousands trying to get it off. and the eletronics are highly sophisticated.

why would you want to badge your car as a 55 when it is a 430?

i wouldn't bother. im just saying it could be a better idea for those AMG wannabes that has AMG emblem on their trunk with 430 emblem on the other side.

The 430 I just bought has AMG on the back lid, but I'm afraid of pulling paint off, so I haven't removed it. When I get a chance, I'll drop by the dealer's body shop and let them try.
I figure any one who would know what an AMG is, would know that a 430 is not. That's my reason for it being on mine.

As for the guy with the black one , who knows. But the way I see it is he bought it so he can put what he wants on it.

The guy that traded mine in could have 20 AMG's if he wanted them so I'm not sure why he did it.

ya maybe that guy just "looks" like he can get 20 amgs but they proabably all fake emblems wannabes lol.

i think the emblems are just glued on. because i've had many emblem stolen off my car and all it left was some glue leftovers. which can be wash off.

plus if it's already on u should just leave it. but u'll save couple grams of weight and give you better power to weight ratio and giving you faster acceration and better fuel economy lol!!

The guy that previously owned it is Matt Roberts, the lead guitarist for 3 Doors Down, so I'm CERTAIN he could own as many as he chooses. He has an S-AMG now. Maybe he couldn't afford it when he bought it two years ago.
At any rate, it's coming off now, but not by me. It would be my luck that paint would come off with it. I've only had it a little over a week, and heven't slowed down enough to go by MB yet.
