C32 brakes are Awesome! Pics inside

Ok got my C32 brakes installed with my Porterfield R4S pads. These things are stupid! My friend had to hold on for dear life whenever I slam these binders. This is the best braking car I've ever had....(e36m3, boxster,996....)

They look great too. Just look at my sig pic vs the bottom picture. Ridiculous!!!

now thats what i'm talking about... looks much much better...

now, go update ur sig...

although, the brakes still look small when grouped with 19s though... you should go for a 14"+ brake kit...

Yeah 13.6 isn't gonna cut it I need 14.4" hahahaha

I'll leave my sig pic for a few days so peeps can compare.

You need to put yours on Danny! I'm not using the stock pads, but I'm sure even with the stock pads you'll love them! It isnt' hard to do.

ohhhhh man come on......you'll be throwing $50.00 away hahaha.

just think of it this way. If you ever sell the car the stock rotors/pads will have plenty of life left....good selling point!

no no... my pads are due to die anytime now...

when i went in for B service, my advisor told me i had 5mm left... that was 8-9,000 miles ago... i'm surprised i'm not down to the 2mm mark yet

i do however find myself braking more... subconsciously trying to wear down my pads...

well, i don't think I want to do that... my tires cost more than these brakes... so I'd rather just let it run its course...

Looks awesome. How long was the installation? And I believe you have to do something special when you install the C32 brakes on the W208, am I right?

THanks

They should.........they use the same pads so it is probably just a different caliper.

It took about 1.5 hours, but that is including jacking the car up changing pads and bleeding the brakes. Nothing hard at all.

Cilky, did you hear any squeaking sounds from the pads?

Thanks

if you want the best... don't be cheap and get an AMG kit meant for another car... they are CRAZY HEAVY and they aren't made for the CLK...

If you want the best, opt for a big brake kit from Brembo or something... much lighter, much better looking, and they fit properly...

it is definitely cleaner than the stock look... and the C32 brakes definitely stop better than the stock CLK brakes...

Don't get me wrong, I already bought a C32 kit for my CLK430, and i'm just waiting for the brake light to come on so I can change the setup...

Btw, another reason you shouldn't get like CL55/SL55/etc.. brakes on your CLK is that unless you step up to AT LEAST 18" wheels, the brakes won't clear the 17s... they are really really huge...

haha bigger better I was thinking of Lowenhart 19s but then the little accident cut me off budgets. lol SLR breaks! i've heard that those breaks are so powerful that it's like either on or off in this review. i think people should have break race lol. or drag combining breaking and accerating. like you have to get to this point fastest but also u have to be completely stoped at that point then u take off again to reach the end. should be fun

SLR brakes are super expensive... i would guess a complete front set will cost the price of your CLK... (maybe slight exageration)...

or not... look at the ENZO, their brake pads run about $10,000 a set...

lol oh ya forgot about the money factor lol. plus not like anyone gonna do that lol. i've heard in the end of racing seasons many race cars they take off their parts like breaks. because they get too old for a new season. but they are still far better than breaks we can get for the streets. I might be lucky to get some 14+inch breaks with calipers off some race car, like the clk dtm. or ship some of the mclaren f1 breaks from the japanese JGTC series. (they always lose to the skylines) they have quite a few of them there. i heard about this from one of the episode of monster garage. lots useful infomations from there

So Danny, does the CL 55 or the SL55 brakes actually do fit in our car? Are they running about the same price as the C32 brakes? I wonder why there is none in this forum who put the rear AMG brakes to their W208. Is there any particular reason?

Thanks,

Solihin

No squeeling at all!!!!!!!! I mean none!!! I love these porterfield pads so far. You need to use the metal shims on the back of your stock pads. I read that they help to reduce any noise/chatter.

Well, rotors & calipers from ANY car can be made to fit ANY car, given that there is ample clearance between from the wheels.

The only thing that needs to be taken into consideration is that, if the brakes weren't meant for the CLK, you'd have to custom fabricate some pieces in order to make the brakes fit.

So you could probably fit something the size of CL/SL55 brakes on the CLK, and they would look massive... 8 piston/huge 14"+ rotors... it will fill up 19s nicely, but again, they are insanely heavy for high performance brakes...

these 8piston AMG brakes are, of course, more expensive than the standard C32 AMG Kits.... evosport sells them if you are interested in pricing...
