No power to new Pioneer

I have read and read, and been in the phone with Crutchfield already... 😁. So any help is greatly appreciated. I have the head unit harness through a Scosche line converter for the speakers, the wiring around that is from the head unit harness to metra harness - black to black; orange/white to orange/white; blue/white to blue/white; yellow to red; then red to pink/green in lighter. The yellow from the metra harness in unused.

Thoughts? Thanks!!

I used a wiring harnesses adapter and tapped into the cigarette lighter for switched 12V.

Well, I have power and it's working! On to the steering wheel interface... Axxess ASC-1. My pins don't look like the picture supplied... I need to do Pink on the harness to pin1 on the vehicle, and blue/pink on the harness to pin2. There are 2 black wires running in to one pin and 2 black/white in to the other. It seems to me that the adaptor wires should connect to colored wires in the car harness??

After changing head units, I was never prompted for a code. My Alpine doesnt have a code.

Sorry, I don't know about Axxess steering wheel interfaces. I used PAC's SWI-CAN2 and SWI-JACK.

Thanks - it didn't show as a malfunction, it was odd... Well, even thought the Axxess website and Crutchfield both say this interface works - it doesn't. I think the lesson for me is to search for 2002 - not trust 2003 "convertible" even when it's an option... At this point I think I'll go without the steering wheel controls - as long as that doesn't cause me a malfunction or problem... I never really used them for the stereo anyway. I assume it's only the radio controls I'll lose?

Thanks for your help - I really appreciate it!

All you'll lose are the radio controls. The TFT won't show stations, but you wont have an error. No one with an aftermarket head unit has made it talk to the TFT, so you'll have lots of company.

Thanks again for all of your help - and all of the materials on your website! I finished the install last night and it's a huge improvement.

I used the Metra Axxess ASWC-1 in my 2002 CLK 320 sport coupe with a Pioneer AVH-
X3800BHS. it works great and the steering wheel controls all work. The directions from the mfgr were followed

I posted this in JG403's other thread but I'm also having big problems with the Axxess purchased through Crutchfield as part of the installation kit of my stereo. It's confirmed as supported on both Metra and Crutchfield's sites... As per the other thread:

The stereo works fine but the Axxess is not detecting my steering controls. It turns on but doesn't respond to my volume presses and 'times out' eventually flashing through 7 equal green blips (presumably meaning it detects none of the 7 wires), followed by 6 red blips (which is actually correct as it's a Pioneer), then alternating red and green. Manually programing attempts similarly are not being detected.

Metra support seems to think it's a matter of poor connection/ground as these Data Com cars like this apparently need good grounds for detection to work. I tried with it wired to the same ground wire as the radio in the harness and tried wiring to a screw in the metal frame of the radio but it still didn't work. There really aren't any good chassis ground options I can see in the area as it's all plastic.
