HRE or Lorinser
Which is a better wheel in quality and looks better on the clk430
both in 18"
HRE high polished
or Lorinser LM5 in polished silver
which is heavier I know HRE is 3 pc forged and Lorinser is 2 pc cast. Come on guys that know their wheels can you help a brother out. Somebody that owes me money wants to pay me with some Lorinser LM5 in 18' staggered and I dont know if I should take them. He says the Lorinser cost more than the HRE cause the Euro is up and each wheel is aroung $1300 which I doubt very much.

Lorinsers are NOT more than HRE's. Just cause the euro is up doesn't mean that shops are going around raising the prices on their in stock supply (and if they did, you should probably go to another shop, or buy online). HRE wheels are forged (much lighter than even a lightweight casting) and 3 piece (better construction, easier to repair as more of the wheel can be taken apart - if you bend a lip, you can buy a replacement lip). Your boy is trying to bamboozle you by telling you HRE's aren't worth as much as Lorinsers...

You also need to make sure those Lorinsers are real... Its getting extremely hard to tell if Lorinsers LM5's are real even though they might have the center caps. You have to look on the inside of the wheel to seeif its real or nice by itsLorinser Germany plate... the lm5's dont even come close to the hre's anyway. Whats on your mind?

take the money, man-- don't let someone pay you in wheels you were'nt interested in buying to begin with. If they really were worth more than the HRE's, why wouldn't this guy just sell them himself, pay you for your wheels and keep the difference?? Your wheels are WAY better than the lorinsers IMO and you should either keep them or find someone else to sell them to if this guy's not paying you outright... just my opinion, though

Take $ if you can; otherwise, the guy IS RIGHT. Lorinser price went up by 15%. Those who said your friend is lying has absolutely NO CLUE what's happened in Lorinser. Got NEW price list from CEC 2 months ago 18x8.5 $1299 18x9.5 $1389.

Take the money
I prefer the style of the Lorinser myself (but only in 19" and not 18") and between the two would go for the 18" HREs.
Also, it is very hard to tell if the Lorinsers are imitation (which might be a strong possiblility).
BTW- Bruce, nice looking wheel. Can Jojo hook it up?
